Hosted by the CTL Faculty Fellows
May 2, 9am-4pm, HMC Shanahan Center
- AI Day - 9am-4pm, in Rooms 1430 (in am) and 2460 (in pm) -> view full program here
- Beyond Course Evals - 1-3pm in the Skycube, Room 3460
The AI Fellows will share their year-long projects related to AI at the Claremont Colleges and in Higher Education in general. The day includes a Plenary Introduction, panels of both faculty and students, and multiple workshops to inform participants’ personal responses to AI in your classroom, discipline, and college. Lunch and coffee will be provided.
In the afternoon, the Beyond Course Evaluation Fellows will present their semester-long explorations of alternatives to course evaluation. Embracing the potential of a 'multiple voices, multiple sources of evidence' approach, CTL fellows are excited to share how teaching portfolios, peer observation triads, and a new collaborative course offering can help the Claremont Colleges critically engage with current practice, which relies heavily on end-of-course student rating forms to assess teaching excellence.
(You do not need to attend the entire day, but please indicate that below.)
