Reimagining Together: Community Read and Lecture with Farah Jasmine Griffin, Read Until You Understand
Join us for an informal reading group this spring as we explore Farah Jasmine Griffin's Read Until You Understand.

In partnership with Frugal Bookstore and co-sponsored Culture, Societies, and Global Studies, the English Department, and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program, this group is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members who will meet via Zoom on Thursday, March 24th and Thursday, April 21st. On Tuesday, April 26th, author, Dr. Farah Jasmine Griffin will give a lecture about her book in person from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM at the Cabral Center (40 Leon St, Boston, MA 02115), which will be open to the public in addition to book club members.

Although the group will be facilitated by Dr. Jean Charles, the format will not focus on formal literary engagements with the novel, but instead, group members will focus on reading the novel for ‘pleasure.’ Reading group members will decide what elements and themes to focus on and discuss during the meetings. We are asking potential participants to commit to attending at least two meetings, and a willingness to contribute to a group reading blog. Participants will be provided with a hard- or digital copy of the novel. Please register to let us know you are interested in joining us in our exploration of this extraordinary work! We would be thrilled to have you!
