Hendrix Youth Institute 2023 Application
The Hendrix Youth Institute will be July 15-21, 2023.

The Hendrix Youth Institute (HYI) program will help senior high youth discern their call for ministry and specifically introduce participants to ordained and professional ministry.  Using a holistic approach, the program will incorporate the “head, heart, and hands” to enable youth to understand God’s call.  

Participants in HYI 2023 will begin on Saturday, July 15 with a retreat.  This retreat will be in the same location as and have an integrated schedule with the Arkansas Conference Council on Youth Ministries (ACCYM) planning retreat.  This location is to be determined but will be no more than 75 miles outside of Conway, Arkansas.  On Monday, July 17, the HYI participants will be transported from the retreat site to Hendrix College to be in service as preparations for Sr. High Assembly (SHA) are finalized.  

Monday, July 17 thru Friday, July 21, HYI participants will be a part of a specialized track incorporated into the Sr. High Assembly schedule of activities. The track will focus on conversation and programs around discerning a call to ministry.  HYI participants will also be in small groups with one another with a tailored curriculum for those exploring a call to ministry.

HYI Participants will remain on campus after the conclusion of Sr. High Assembly for additional processing and be dismissed in the early evening of Friday, July 21 after a closing reception with family of participants.

Important Details:

  • There are 24 spots available for Hendrix Youth Institute on a first come, first serve basis.  A wait list will be started once all spots are filled.
  • Any current 9th-12th grader is eligible to attend Hendrix Youth Institute.
  • HYI is a completely free experience for all participants, including their registration fee for Sr. High Assembly. All meals, lodging, and supplies will be covered.  
  • The deadline to apply for HYI is April 1, 2023.
