Who We Are
You know your child best, but when you try to advocate for your child you don’t feel you are heard. Schools are charged with providing education to many diverse students and develop “programs” to serve students. Often the needs of the individual child are overlooked. At Florida Professional Special Education Advocates we are trained professionals skilled at translating your concerns into an education plan that meets your child’s individual needs.
We are also parents of children with a disability with a unique perspective on the importance of the role of a parent in school team meetings.

What do we do?
Our advocacy services typically start with a free 15 minutes consultation to see how we can help. We then complete a comprehensive review of your child’s records. We listen to the concerns and goals of the parent and assist parents with developing a strategy to address their educational concerns.
- Work with families and school teams to ensure that the needs of the individual student are addressed.
- Provide preparation support to parents prior to school team meetings.
- Attend IEP, 504, and other school meetings and parent conferences.
- Educate and empower parents to advocate for their child with a disability as well as help parents teach students to advocate for themselves.
- Promote high expectations and independence for students with disabilities.
- Help families find an appropriate school placement for their child to include FES and Gardiner scholarship funding.
