Analytics flow or report traffic shows Undefined, or undefined-#

appidmgmtserver.log shows the following

2021-09-09 14:33:38,336 WARN  [AgentSignatureManager] After repeated attempts, could not obtain fingerprint data from NetSight

Cause

 
Unknown. Fingerprint file cannot be synched.

Resolution

 
We were able to rectify this by making sure the remote XMC server on analytics engine and remote analytics server on XMC's /etc/host file were updated with IP and name.
Modify the /etc/hosts accordingly.

Additional notes

 
To see if you have this issue.
from XMC ssh shell
nslookup <ipofanalytics>
then nslookup <nameofanalytics>
then to the opposite from the analytics ssh shell.

All of these need to resolve in order to clear this issue.
