Battle of the Books participants from across the Pikes Peak region recently voted on t-shirt design entries to be printed on all shirts. The winning design was submitted by Encompass Heights 5th grader, Twila S. Twila's artwork will be featured on approximately 1,000 shirts worn by participants in the April competition at Colorado College. Entries were required to be original art and contain the titles of all 40 books on the battle list. This is Encompass Heights first year participating in Battle of the Books. What a great way to start! Congratulations Twila!
Battle of the Books is a reading competition for 5th grade students. This is the 38th year for the Pikes Peak Battle of the Books.
The Mission of the Pikes Peak Region Battle of the Books is to foster a love of reading by encouraging students to read challenging, quality literature written by a variety of authors in multiple genres.
