Cybersecurity Training for School Staff from NCSC

Overview

The National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC, part of GCHQ) has produced free cyber security training to raise awareness and help school staff manage some of the key cyber threats facing schools.

This training is non-technical and appropriate for all staff to attend, but may be particularly helpful for senior leaders and governors to attend in order to understand high-level issues and why you need to be aware (and what you need to do about it).

The main course content is designed by NCSC and will be delivered by LGfL's Cybersecurity Team, who will also show how LGfL can help schools get the best out of the LGfL security ecosystem in order to follow the principles outlined by NCSC.

The training will look at how and why cyber attacks happen and give you tips to ensure you are practising good cyber hygiene in school and at home. We will look at what we can learn from the NCSC-LGfL UK-wide audit of security in schools (see securityaudit.lgfl.net to read the report), the types of people that might be a risk to your school from a cyber security perspective, and practical steps to protect yourself and your school from cyber attacks.
