Revised floating cranes deployment policy

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port at Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) has announced changes to conditions of the policy for deployment of floating cranes at Sandheads, Sagar and other anchorages, as follows:

  • At the time of indicating vessel for booking of slots of floating cranes, importers/exporters or their agents/vessel agents must deposit the amount of Rs Ten (10) lakhs, instead of Rs 7 lakhs through RTGS (not PCS) to HDC to a specified bank account with intimation to the Finance Division, to be retained as a security deposit.
    In the case of any deviation of the vessel’s indicated ETA +/- 2 days, or cancellation of the vessel, the deposit may be forfeited.

  • Importers/exporters whose vessel adhere to their declared ETA within the indicated relaxation period, will be allotted floating cranes and will have the option of seeking refund of the said deposit amount or transfer the same as security deposit for their forthcoming vessel.

The above takes effect immediately.
