Strobilanthes auriculatus Nees: 5 very high res. images.

Location: Eden Project, Cornwall, UK
Altitude: 60m.
Date: 03 April 2022
Habit : Cultivated

This looks like Strobilanthes auriculata var. dyeriana (Mast.) J.R.I. Wood. It has been treated as a distinct species Strobilanthes dyeriana Mast. but only differs in the leaf markings. It is widely cultivated and was described in the Gardener’s Chronicle from cultivated material. Wild populations of the variety are found in Myanmar and Thailand.

Going by the leaves, it appears close to images at Strobilanthes auriculatus var. dyeriana

In my opinion it is Strobilanthes auriculatus var. dyeriana
