RJ & Large-Scale Social Change: Environmental Changes
Facilitated and Sponsored by the DC Peace Team

Date: August 24th, 7:00-8:30 pm EST
Location: ONLINE (Zoom link provided after registration and about 24 hrs. before the session)**
For questions contact Angela Moon at angelamoon5000@gmail.com

Description: Large-scale social and legal changes have produced a great deal of ripple
effects in people’s lives. How do we process and respond to harms that we consider to
come from larger forces - legislative, court decisions, international or domestic forces, and
others? How do we take steps in our personal lives? Do we see ourselves moving further
than the realm of the personal?

ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE - We will have a Restorative Justice Circle focused on personal approaches and social changes related to the environment and climate/environmental change. We leave the scope broad enough that you can share as freely as you'd like about your own, authentic experiences within the umbrella of environmental change.

Objective: Provide space for people to reflect on how they process and/or take action when
large scale social forces change their lives. This topic looks at the intersection of RJ on a
personal level and RJ as it relates to societal transformation as it relates to the environment and environmental change.

This training is provided by the DC Peace Team, which empowers ordinary civilians to increasingly serve their communities particularly as nonviolent peacekeepers, and by extension as peacemakers and peacebuilders. The DC Peace Team lives this mission by deploying unarmed civilian protection and accompaniment units, providing training in various nonviolent skills, and facilitating dialogues and restorative justice approaches.
