Adolph Hitler

Character Analysis
Adolph Hitler is considered the epitome of an evil man, one of the most notorious symbols of cruelness and ruthlessness. As the ruler of Germany and the Nazi Regime during World War 11, Hitler made many unforgiving and cold decisions. Hitler is responsible for one of the most violent and life taking conflicts in the history of mankind, almost resulting in the loss of human civilization as we know it. Adolph Hitler was a man that suffered as a paranoid schizophrenic, as well as possessing traits such as ruthlessness and narcissism.
Adolph Hitler is known to have suffered from extreme paranoia and have traits of a schizophrenic person. In 1992, Edleff Shwaab proposed a theory in his book ‘Hitlers Mind’ that described the roots of Adolph’s paranoia surrounding the Jewish threat to be “rooted in a traumatic childhood that was dominated by a depressive mother and a tyrannical father” (Shwaab). The roots of the holocaust can be traced back down to the paranoia rooted into Adolph Hitler at a young age by his poor upbringing. Hitler was also known to have a schizophrenia, due to his mentioning voices inside his head. A famous quote by Hitler highlights hearing these “Voices” after nearly being killed by a bomb in WW1,” Suddenly a voice seemed to be saying to me: “Get up and go over there.” It was so clear and insistent that I obeyed automatically, as if it had been a military order. I rose at once to my feet and walked twenty yards along the trench. A stray shell had burst over the group in which I had been sitting, and every member of it was killed” (Toland, 64).
Adolph Hitler showed barely any signs of sympathy or care to the millions that he destroyed, showcasing his ruthlessness. Along with the holocaust, evidence of human experimentation is evident during the Nazi Regime, showcasing the extent of Hitler’s ruthlessness. In the publication of ‘German Neurology and the Third Reich’ by M. Martin and H. Fangerau, it is evident that “Eugenics became a political state objective in conjunction with the change of power” (Fangerau). Eugenics, along with other inhumane experiments were approved and even encouraged during Hitler’s reign in Germany. Other inhumane practices were also utilized on psychiatric patients during Hitler’s reign of power, with fatal drugs such as morphine, hyoscine and barbiturates being used to euthanize the mentally ill (Wheeling).
Adolph Hitler was also considered a raging narcists during his life and time of power. Hitler possessed destructive thoughts and behavior due to his narcissistic rage, and truly broadcasted his extreme narcissism by the publishing of Adolf Hitler, sein Leben, seine Reden under the name Koeber. Hitler described himself as the “Messiah” in this biography as well as dub himself, “The leader of the most radically honest national movement […] who is ready as well as prepared to lead the German struggle for liberation” (Koeber). During his self-written autobiography, Hitler compares himself to Jesus Christ and argues that the book should become the “new bible of today” (Koeber). This truly represents the extent of Hitler’s narcissism, in which he compares himself to a religion and its leaders.
Adolph Hitler possessed many alarming and dangerous traits to create one of the evilest beings of all time. Hitler’s unfair and harsh upbringing was the perfect formula for many of the mental issues and harmful personality traits that Hitler suffered later on in life. Adolph Hitler’s hatred and concern over the Jewish people was a result of the paranoia and schizophrenia that stemmed from his childhood. His ruthlessness is also profound by Hitler murdering millions during his time of power by starting the biggest and bloodiest conflict in the history of mankind, as well as committing the largest genocide in history. Narcissism is also evident, with evidence of Hitler comparing himself to Jesus Christ and the bible, as well as being hungry for power and control throughout his entire reign as head of the Nazi regime.

Conspiracies'

Recording to the history books, Adolph Hitler never lived past the invasion of Berlin by the Soviet military. However, one must keep in mind that history is written by victors and Hitler living past the war would not be a tasteful ending. In regard to Hitler’s death, there are three main conspiracies that circulate through the talk of what really happened to Adolph Hitler. One in which Adolph Hitler’s escape is covered by the Soviet government, the next is that Hitler escaped to Argentina, and final conspiracy is that Hitler fled and lived the remainder of his lie in Antarctica.
One of the less popular conspiracies regarding Hitler’s death is that the Russian military covered up the escape of Hitler by claiming he had died. The main claim behind this conspiracy is that “Stalin had told Truman at Potsdam that Hitler had not died”(“Truth”). This information led to only 16% of Americans believing that Hitler had died in the September 1945 Gallup poll. Additionally, the Russian government claimed to hold proof of Hitler’s death by having pieces of his remains, including a “skull fragment and piece of jawbone” (“DNA”). However, when these remains were presented to the rest of the world in 2000, “US researchers presented the results of DNA tests on the skull and said it definitely didn't belong to the dictator because it was from a female”(“DNA”).  However, evidence shows that the Russian government did not cover up Hitler’s death as scientific evidence disproves this theory.  The European Journal of Internal Medicine conducted a biomedical analysis of Hitler’s teeth and definitively identified it. Dr. Phillipe Charlier states that the remains “provide sufficient pieces of evidence in the definitive identification of the remains of the former Nazi leader Adolf Hitler” (Charlier).
The next significant conspiracy theory regarding the fate of Adolph Hitler had to do with Hitler escaping to South America, specifically Argentina. Jerome R. Corsi is a firm believer that Hitler escaped to Argentina and speaks about it in his book Hunting Hitler. Corsi states that Hitler and his mistress Eva Braun, “retired peacefully in a mansion built by German expats hidden by the Baroliche forest” (Corsi). He claims that Hitler and his wife took a submarine to Argentine. Two German submarines did indeed arrive in Argentina after the war. However, this theory was also proven false by the identification of Hitlers teeth by the European Journal of Internal Medicine (Charlier).
Additionally, there was a conspiracy theory circulating that entailed that Adolph Hitler escaped persecution by fleeing to Antarctica. The fact that supports this strange claim is that “the Nazis did at one point carry out an expedition in Antarctica in 1938”(Kirkpatrick). According to Alex Kirkpatrick of Ohio University, the stem of the conspiracy is “that the Nazis took control of part of Antarctica and built underground bunkers where they would experiment with creating new technology” (Kirkpatrick). Along with the expedition to Antarctica, the Nazi’s also agreed to the Antarctic Treaty, which “states that Antarctica cannot be targeted in anyway by bombs or missiles”(Kirkpatrick). However, this conspiracy has been debunked since the expedition to Antarctica by the Germans was meant to expand the whaling industry, not scout for a future base. Additionally, there is no evidence supporting the intent of Germany when they signed the Antarctic Treaty.
These conspiracies will forever remain conspiracy theories, simply because proof of Hitler’s remains is evident. Adolph Hitler’s teeth and jaw were positively identified by the European Journal of Internal Medicine, so it is evident he was killed or killed himself soon after the Soviet Army stormed Berlin. Many of the conspiracy theories regarding the fate of Hitler are not based on cold-hard evidence, rather based on coincidental occurrences

Conclusion

Despite evidence proving Hitler’s death, many conspiracists still believe Adolph Hitler escaped Germany and lived peacefully post WW11. Three main conspiracies relate to Adolph Hitler’s fate:

  1. Hitler’s escape was covered by the Soviet Government.

  2. Hitler escaped to Argentina.

  3. Hitler escaped to Antarctica and lived in peaceful solitude.

Some of Adolph Hitler’s remains (teeth and jaw) were positively identified by the European Journal of Internal Medicine, so it is clear that he was killed or killed himself soon after the Soviet Army stormed Berlin.
