The Sustainability and Social Change Lab is directed by Dr. Sara Constantino. Our lab focuses on the applied topics of climate adaptation and mitigation, poverty alleviation, and the intersection between inequality and climate change. We have ongoing projects on the emergence and erosion of social norms; the role of political ideology, partisanship, and trust on cooperation and political behavior; moral decision-making related to welfare provision, intergenerational justice and reparations; the varied narratives surrounding energy transitions, extreme weather events and poverty; the inequities and politics around climate mobility decisions; and the social and political consequences of cash transfer policies. CSSH invites you to become a student leader. Share your Northeastern story with other students by applying to one or more of the following leadership positions:

CSSH Peer Mentors are upper-class students who work with 4-8 incoming first-year students that share the same major. They check-in with their mentees throughout the semester, invite/attend events with them, and share their advice, stories, and experiences.

CSSH Circle Program Assistants (PAs) play a key role in guiding first year international students with adjustment to life at a US university. Each PA is teamed up with several new international students. Throughout the semester assistants are provided a budget to organize 1-3 events along with their Circle teams. There are also opportunities to develop skills by taking on roles in Social Media, Event Planning, Outreach, and Peer Training.

CSSH coordinates Teaching Assistant opportunities for two courses taught by Co-op Coordinators and Academic Advisors.
