Sarah McCool, PhD | Sarah McCool, PhD is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. She has worked in health care and global health in various capacities since 2007, having started her career in hospital administration before switching to global health. She has worked on tuberculosis surveillance in Asia, as a United States Agency for International Development Fellow and as a consultant to a Fortune 500 company. She is the former Executive Director of an NGO in Haiti, and she also consulted on a USAID child protection project in Haiti. Her expertise is in cooperation among global health stakeholders, most recently in infectious disease response, and she strives to connect policy and practice for improving public health outcomes. She has lived and worked in Singapore, Indonesia and Haiti, and has studied and learned (to varying degrees) French, Haitian Creole, Bahasa Indonesia and Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS) as a US Department of State Critical Languages Scholar. |
Richard Ricciardi, CRNP, PhD, FAANP, FAAN | Richard Ricciardi, CRNP, PhD, FAANP, FAAN is a Professor and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement at The George Washington University School of Nursing. Prior to joining GW, Dr. Ricciardi served as the Director, Division of Practice Improvement and the Senior Advisor for Nursing at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Ricciardi served on active duty in the Army for 31 years, where he held numerous positions as a pediatric and family nurse practitioner, clinical scientist, and senior leader. In 2020, Dr. Ricciardi was recalled back to active duty to serve as the Medical Director for the COVID-19 pandemic screening, treatment and public health response at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, one of the Department of Defense’s largest training bases. Dr. Ricciardi is the current president of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. |
Laura R. Haddock, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, ACS | Laura R. Haddock, PhD, has been a counseling professional for over 30 years in both clinical and academic settings. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Mississippi and currently serves as a clinical faculty member at Southern New Hampshire University. Her clinical practice includes work with a variety of populations, with focus on identity issues and women experiencing significant life transitions. She is a licensed professional counselor-supervisor, national certified counselor, and approved clinical supervisor. Dr. Haddock is an active counseling professional and has served on the Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners and the executive boards for Mississippi Counseling Association and Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselors Association. She maintains an active research agenda and was the 2017 recipient of the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision Distinguished Service Award-Counselor Educator. Her research interests include counselor wellness and secondary trauma, spirituality, sexuality, cultural diversity, and supervision. |
Penny Lane Hamblin, EdD, NCC, LCMHCS | Dr. Penny Lane Hamblin has been a licensed psychotherapist and counselor educator since 2015. She trained in North Carolina gaining experiential practice while serving the mental health community, before settling in to her private practice, PLC Counseling, PLLC in 2019. In addition to her private practice, she teaches graduate level counseling education at Southern New Hampshire University. Dr. Penny Lane specializes in treating trauma and promoting trauma-informed language, as well as, viewing the world from a trauma lens. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focusing on treating adolescents. She also works with young adults with specific phobias, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Dr. Penny Lane’s work is directive focusing on body awareness, body sensitivities, and connecting the body to the mind. She combines awareness with mindfulness connecting choice to the physiological response embedded in the individual while recognizing body sensations. Dr. Penny Lane recognizes the connection of the body sensation leading the traumatic thought association and the importance of awareness. She focuses on healing the physical body in a mindful practice individualized to recognize one’s needs and the necessity of feeding the needs of the whole self. From a holistic lens, she treats the mind, body, and soul turning open wounds into scars of battle that tell an empowering story. Dr. Penny Lane received both her Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling and her Educational Doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision from the CACREP institution of Argosy University in sunny Sarasota, Florida. In addition, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University in her home state of North Carolina. She is professionally affiliated with Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and is currently working on her consultant certification within the EMDRIA community, as well as, the publication of her first novel. |
Eric J. Perry PhD, NCC, ACS | Dr. Eric Perry earned an MA in Community Counseling from Slippery Rock University and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University. His dissertation examined the perceptions of Counselor Educators related to online education and the expansion of online pedagogy. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), with most of his experience in community counseling and K-12 treatment settings. Perry has over 15 years of experience as a classroom and online instructor, working first to train background investigators and then serving as a trainer, instructional designer and curriculum developer for a large mental health service provider in Pittsburgh, PA as well as for other mental health service agencies, educational institutions and training providers. Most recently, Perry has served as a faculty member and program coordinator in an online and hybrid counselor education program before becoming a Clinical Faculty member at SNHU. Perry is highly involved in service activities and previously served as the Social Media and Web Manager for the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) as well as Technology Coordinator for the North Atlantic Region of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NARACES). Perry continues to work toward research related to the development and research of online pedagogy specific to counselor education.
