Why this petition matters
Started by American Venous Forum
It's time to take action against the proposed CMS 20% payment cuts to critical office-based services in the proposed Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Rule for CY2022.
With up to 1/3 of US adults currently suffering with venous disease, we should be increasing access to appropriate care for patients rather than creating new obstacles.
The effects of these cuts would be dramatic and life-changing:
- Potential shutdown of efficient and effective office-based procedures would result in untreated arterial and venous disorders with worsening healthcare disparities
- Patients would be forced to pursue hospital-based treatments with potential treatment delays and much higher costs to both the patient & Medicare
- Patients may choose to forgo necessary medical care rather than go to a hospital setting during COVID - a phenomenon we have already witnessed for venous patients as well as cardiac and stroke patients
- Hospital-based care, already stretched to the limit by COVID, would see an additional influx of patients
Together we can make a difference! Please join us as we raise our collective voice for the sake of our patients!
