Dean's Welcome

Dean Cyndee Gruden

As the Dean of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS), it is my pleasure to invite you to our cohesive community dedicated to providing a world-class education to our students. With innovative programs and award-winning faculty, we offer a rigorous academic environment and hands-on learning and research experiences. Our tradition of student-focused teaching and learning engages undergraduates at an intimate level throughout their time at UNH. This tradition is exemplified in programs such as the Innovation Scholars Program, a research driven introduction to the university for first-year students, and our Undergraduate Research Conference, one of the largest and most diverse undergraduate research conferences in the country and a hallmark of UNH CEPS.

CEPS is nationally unique in incorporating mathematics and the physical sciences (chemistry, earth sciences and physics) in the same academic college as computer science and engineering disciplines (Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Ocean Engineering). In addition, CEPS is affiliated with several interdisciplinary research centers including the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space (EOS); the Center for Ocean Renewable Energy; the John Olson Manufacturing Center; and UNH Center for Infrastructure Resilience to Climate. As a result, CEPS delivers collaborative education and research opportunities across disciplines, preparing our students to positively impact their profession, their community, and the world.

Whether you are a prospective student, an alum, an employer, or a friend of CEPS, I encourage you to reach out and stay connected to our college community.

Sincerely,

Cyndee Gruden ’91, ’93G
Dean of CEPS
