NYPD detectives released images Sunday of people they believe could help them solve a Cypress Hills homicide in which a woman’s body parts were found inside multiple suitcases.
On Sept. 21, neighbors at an apartment building on 315 Linwood Street called police about a foul smell.
When the NYPD responded to the apartment on the sixth floor, they discovered a dead body that was chopped up and put in two suitcases.
Authorities identified the victim as 22-year-old D’Asia Johnson.
Police say they were looking to question Johnson’s boyfriend. Neighbors told News 12 they heard the two fighting often, but police say they haven’t talked to him yet.
The surveillance images captured five women and one man whom police believe could be valuable witnesses to the crime.
Police are now asking for help in identifying those six individuals.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
