I was a little disappointed with this book, in as much that l felt it needed a more in-depth story line. Otherwise it was ok. I would really love a book about Tennessee. Maybe in the future?

It was an interesting story but I just wasn't feeling the female protagonist. I simply couldn't relate to her or like her. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it was about Aria's personality that didn't mesh with me. The beginning was good and I could see the potential but the middle was just okay. Matthew was a great alpha male and I think he was the one that kept me going with the story. Also Tennessee was hilarious. I wouldn't describe the story as dark, it was more suspenseful in some regards. I would have liked some more tension and drama within the story. It seems like the story was mainly focused on Matthew and Aria which is fine. But I think there should have been more conflict and struggle even between the two protagonists. I feel as though Aria gave in too easily and her change came too quickly. There wasn't enough time for her to really grow and become the independent woman she could be. It was still a good story and I recommend others to give it a go.

This book is another in the Top Shelf series by Alta Hensley & like all of the others can be read completely standalone. This is the story of Matthew who seeks revenge for the theft of his diamonds by kidnapping Aria. This book was an ok read but wasn't a favourite from this author. I felt some of the language between the characters, particularly in the first part of the story, was a little cringey & not up to the authors usual standard. Thankfully, the last half of the story improved.

Thoroughly enjoyed all 6 of these books from start to finish, the main characters and their women were all very interesting, it's hard not to become immersed in Spiked Roses, my only complaint is that there are 7 owners but only 6 stories, I'd liked to have read about Lennon and also a bonus story about Tennessee as he was an amazing character, so well written. Apart from that ..... Fantastic set of books, Alta Hensley knows how to write about the darker side of romance and keeps you hooked. Can't wait to read more of her books, so give yourselves a forbidden treat and read Spiked Roses
For me ..... onto the next x

I am in LOVE with this series.

Aria's father took something from Matthew so he takes something from her father. Her.

Matthew and Aria aren't meant to be together. They come from opposite sides almost. Enemies. But, love and hate, fear and lust are like two sides of the coin. Aria has no reason to trust anything Matthew says, but the same could be said about her father. Difference between the two is she somewhat admires Matthew. Definitely admires what he can do to her.

Matthew should hate her by her blood alone. Her father stole from him so he takes her for revenge. Some things are hardwired into Matthew and protecting women is one of them. While he may not want to want her, he does. That doesn't change his mind that she's a means to an end.

While they aren't supposed to be, they're meant to be. You can't change what you want. Who you want. But Matthew is a business man and he has his own way. Ruthless in almost everything. But her father being who he is, they can't be anything to the other and all things end. But as we've learned from these Spiked Roses guys, things hardly turn out how you first expected them to. And this is one connection you can't break.

Sinners & Gin is another phenomenal read in the Top Shelf series. You have some of your favorite Spiked Roses in this one and you will just love Tennessee even more in this one. This is Matthew's book and you will just love him. His dominance is just the right touch that Aria didn't know she needed and craved. Who is Aria you may ask? Well let me tell you she is a Mafia Princess whose daddy crossed Matthew. Yes this is a captive/captor romance that the chemistry runs red hot. Alta gives you everything you would want and more in this one. You even get a softer caring side of Matthew. I loved this book so much and really couldn't put it down. I love how I was sucked in from the very start. If you haven't picked up this series yet you need to.

Absolutely loved this series. Sinners and Gin definitely was not a let down. After having his property stolen, Matthew does the one thing he has to do to get it back. Kidnapping the thief's daughter. This story centers around strong discipline and passionate sex. Strongly recommend the series, it is great.
