New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
I laughed out loud. Became emotionally involved with the characters. I was bored by the repetition of situations and fighting, but it did feel real. It felt like life. At times the authors script was poetic and at times long winded, but it makes you want to read on. Shannon is empathic and histrionics at times. Marie is manic. Declan is learning how to relate emotionally. Jason is stoic and described as a Beta-alpha. Andrew feels emotionally immature and Amanda is trying to fix and control things beyond her abilities. James is still grieving and closed off with guilt and anger. The Jacoby/ McCormick families interact, entangle and continue their saga from engagement, to eventual marriage, each couple dealing with values and sense of self. At times the stories were very drawn out and I waffled between a 4 and a 5 star but ultimately I’m still interested and will be reading on.
Shopping for a Billionaire's Fiancee by Julia Kent. Julia continues to write extremely wonderful stories that have you laughing out loud. You are drawn in from the very first page and feel you are part of the story. Amazing... absolutely love this story, If you want to laugh out loud and fall hopelessly in love then Julia's books are for you.5*+
Book eight was the funniest. I wasn't really aware there was such a thing as romantic comedy in books. As an educated, intelligent adult I would have enjoyed the book more of I didn't need to look up so much unnecessary vocabulary. I can't just skip over words I've never seen before.
4 stars for books 6 and 8, 3 for book 7. The best friend was just a bit insipid when it came to her own story. I kept wanting to slap her and give her a backbone.
But I loved the whole craziness around the wedding, and was highly entertained by the rest of it. Shannon was still great. I love her crazy and she's not afraid to be who she is and own every second of it.
Shopping for a Billionaire Boxed Set Two (Books 6-8) was another great set by Julia Kent. This box set consists of; Shopping for a Billionaire’s Fiancée, Shopping for a CEO, and Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife. These books follow Shannon and Declan, and Amanda and Andrew. These are great and funny books, and I can’t wait to read more by Julia Kent.
Having your favorite series in a boxed set is fantastic as are all of the stories included. Want some laugh out loud moments? Then get this set and start reading today. You can't go wrong with any Julia Kent story.
I enjoy this series of books so much. I was laughing out loud and even shedding a tear at times. Following a group of characters through a series of books makes them feel like family!
This series is a laugh a day waiting to happen. I have never laughed so much as I have since I started to read this series. Who knew that getting to know someone would be so hilarious.I would recommend this series to anyone who needs a good belly laugh.
Basically a continuation of the series. Some characters get featured in their own story. Shannon was a bit odd to me. She had so many feeling and internal thoughts it sometimes seemed unreasonable.
Not as laugh out loud funny as the first box set. I still found this box set enjoyable with lots of new quirky stuff. The characters keep developing more and more with each story.
Absolutely hilarious and ridiculous in the best possible way. It was male you laugh and the story is extremely well written. It's also great that the female lead is a beautiful, intelligent, and average sized woman instead of yet another model.
I honestly look forward to the next book before I'm even done wth the book that just came out. Seriously hilarious, real, down to earth story. Must read for sure.
Loved this boxed set-Julia Kent's Shopping series always tickles my funny bone, touches my heart and puts a smile on my face. Keep the Shopping Series books coming!
I love this series from the start when Shannon and Declan met to the birth of their daughter. Even the contests between brothers trying to tp each other. I hope it never ends.

Loved this. Shannon’s mom really went over board. Declan really tried to do what he thought was right. Andrew and Amanda what a couple. Can’t wait to read more.
These stories are sexy and roll on the floor laughing hysterically. I love the characters and the situations they find themselves in especially with a meddling mother. Great series.
