Farm to Classroom Experience - Request Form
The Baltimore City Public Schools Farm to School team is now accepting requests for FREE Farm to Classroom Experiences school year 2023-2024. Staff may choose from our menu of themes -- planting, cooking, animals, and food waste. We then tailor specific content and lessons to align with classroom learning. These hands-on programs are designed for full grade(s) of students and aim to connect students to their food system, reinforce classroom concepts, and promote wholeness.

Please fill out this form if you are interested in an experience for your class/grade.
  • WHO: Staff at Baltimore City Public Schools may request experiences for students in pre-K - grade 12 who will not be visiting Great Kids Farm on a field trip this school year. Experiences will be led by Farm to School staff.
  • WHERE: These experiences are NOT field trips; they take place at schools. (To request Great Kids Farm field trips or another Farm to School program, visit www.baltimorecityschools.org/farm-school.)
  • TIMING: Timeframe will vary according to school schedule and needs, but educators can generally stay at a school for 2-3 hours and work with classes back-to-back for 30-45-minute sessions, with some transition time, to reach a full grade.
  • LOGISTICS: After receiving this form, Farm to School educators will reach out to discuss logistics and exact timing, but generally, we will arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the program to set up, and we will bring all supplies needed for the experience.
Please note that in the interest of fairness, we ask that you not schedule Farm to Classroom experiences for students who will/have also come to the farm on a field trip (and vice versa). Also, these experiences are meant for ALL students in a given class, club, or grade -- not as rewards for subgroups of students, so please keep that in mind as you plan.

With any questions, please email farms@bcps.k12.md.us. Check out our full menu of Farm to School offerings at www.baltimorecityschools.org/farm-school
