Holiday with the Players #1

Snowed In with the Player

Rate this book
It was supposed to be a weekend of holiday cheer.
Just me and my twin sister, watching Christmas movies and baking cookies.
My brother was absolutely not supposed to show up with half the football team.
Including Teddy. My brother’s best friend and my secret crush.
I’m the shy sister. The one with her nose stuck in a book and quoting every word of Elf, not the one getting attention from guys like Teddy.
He’s cool and smart and so handsome I could die.
The only thing that could make things worse is if I got snowed in with him.
Alone.

I loved this holiday novella so much! It's a snowed in with your long-time crush who happens to be your brother's best friend. The novel starts when Holly and her twin are going to their parents' cabin for some time away in the winter and they find their brother and his friends there too. Holly has had a crush on Teddy for years, but nothing has ever happened. When her sister and brother go to run an errand, Holly and Teddy end up snowed in and things heat up. It was so fun! Holly loves Christmas, so there were Christmas movies, holiday baking, snowball fights, skiing, and so much more! The whole atmosphere of this was so cute and I loved the relationship with Holly and Teddy. It was sweet and developed so well for such a short book. I will admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the third act breakup, but I still loved this novella overall. Definitely pick this up if you want a fun holiday novella!

The brother’s best friend trope remains a favourite of mine and was utilised well in this delightful M/F holiday novella.

The story follows college student Holly, as she gets to live out her deepest desires when she gets snowed in at her family’s cabin overnight with her brother’s bestie and her long-time crush, Teddy.

Teddy lived up to his name. He was a total darling of a hero, and every time he called Holly sweetheart!? Swoon!

This wasn’t long by any means, but it was just enough to provide the feels, the romance, some lite steam and plenty of Christmassy fun.

I’ll definitely be reading the follow-up novella, Sneaking Around with the Player, which sees Holly’s twin Stella as she navigates her “forbidden” romance with hunky college football rival, Beau.

I’ve often felt like I’m on the outside, looking in, but when I’m with Teddy, it’s like everyone else is missing out, instead of the other way around.

Snowed in with the Player gave all the cozy vibes, while also being a sweet “stranded together” with my brother’s best friend, who I’ve been crushing on, romance. There’s also the perfect dash of holiday spirit to get even the most Scrooge-y reader in the mood, the holiday mood of course.

SiwtP is a holiday novella, set in the Valley U world, so it’s a pretty quick read, but we do get mentions of our favorite Jenshak created college and a little dose of a hero I think is a future MC. We also get a taste of who/what the next holiday novella will be about and I am so excited for more of these characters!

Highly recommend this one. I think I received this book at 10pm and stayed up until 1am reading it because I could not put it down. Reading about Holly and Teddy had me consumed. They were just so sweet I couldn’t get enough. The perfect holiday novella to add to your list!

4.25⭐️ SO FREAKING CUTE!! One of my favorite holiday novellas. I love the Christmas feels it was giving and Holly & Teddy were cuties. It was absolutely adorable and I love the brothers best friend trope so much. Also it set up the next novella perfectly. I am so excited for that. 💛

Snowed In with the Player is not entirely memorable since this is only a novella. I picked it up because I need some cleansing between my books.

Miss Jenshak writes the story as easy going and light hearted. Not much to tell. The charatcers are loveable and the story is fast pace.

Holiday romance perfection!! Snowed In with the Player is vibrantly festive, feel good charm! Rebecca Jenshak gives us the perfect balance of heart and heat, with just the right dash of emotional tension and holiday fun. I simply adored this adorable novella- my heart is all warm and cozy!

YAY FOR HOLIDAY NOVELLAS- and twins! How fun!! I really loved this one- short, sweet, super cute, and very festive! I love love love how Rebecca incorporated all the Christmas traditions - it made me all giddy for the holidays!

This darling story has so many of my favorite tropes- shy girl, dreamy jock, brother’s best friend, secret tryst, and snowed in for the holidays! The ski cabin locale makes for a delightfully wintery and isolated setting- which gives this novella an amazing intimacy. And I loooved these characters! Even though it’s a shorter romance, Rebecca gives them a lot of substance. And their chemistry is so freaking charming! And we have just enough history between these two to make their bond feel complex and authentic. I loved the secondary characters, our hero is a swoony dreamboat, and our heroine Holly is definitely my soul sister- introverted, Christmas obsessed, shy but sassy. I just loved it to pieces- this charming story is totally Christmas magic!

Holly Walters and her twin sister survived their first semester of college at Valley University in Arizona and are looking forward to relaxing and unwinding. They spent their summers there as kids, but now like bringing friends to ski and hang out in the winter. Snowed in with the Player by Rebecca Jenshak is the first book in the Holiday with the Players novellas. It’s a fantastic brothers best friend, college, sports romance about family, friendship and taking chances on love. It’s fun, flirty, and a little forbidden. The story is part of the Valley U world that I love so much! I can’t wait for Stella and Beau’s story next! <333

This was a short and sweet brother's best friend, holiday-themed romance! Rebecca's stories are always easy to read with plenty of sweet moments while the two MCs find their way to each other. Holly was the quieter twin who has been crushing on Teddy for a while, hoping that he would finally notice her. They're forced to spend time together after a blizzard locks them indoors, allowing a slow romance to finally blossom between them. Overall, this was a cute story with interesting characters. I'm excited for Stella's book next!

Tropes: brother's best friend, secret pining, cinnamon roll hero, bookish heroine, forced proximity, sports romance, secret romance, holiday fling

This is a cute, quick holiday novella.

Holly’s headed up to her family’s cabin during her winter break but much to her surprise, her brother is there with his friends, including the one she’s been crushing on for years, Teddy. When the others head out on a trip but can’t get back due to snow, the two are left alone in the house with no power.

This was a fun read. I felt like I was missing some pieces as I haven’t read any of the author’s books before and there was a little too much misunderstanding for my liking in a novella but I love a little holiday book so good to add to the list for a fun read.

Snowed In With The Player was a nice, enjoyable and festive read.

Rebecca Jenshak wrote this novella wonderfully, the writing was perfectly executed, and even if it's short it didn't feel rushed. I was sucked right into the story and I grew attached to the characters.

I liked Holly so much, she is shy and her crush for her brother's teammate is so cute. Teddy is really cute too and the two together are sweet and hot.

I highly recommend to read this story, it's the right way to get into the Christmas spirit.

3,5 stars. Liked it. Not too Christmassy but it had a good winter feeling. Ski resort, cabin, snowed in with your crush.. not the most original trope but I liked it either way. Not too much depth, but it didn’t get shallow. Holly and Teddy were a cute couple. He wasn’t into casual relationships and nice to read a non manwhore jock for a change. The storyline of Holly’s twin sister Stella was entwined and her book is up next. Secretly I’m curious about their brother’s Felix book. Not sure there’s one up for him though.

Safe read. Brother is a bit of a player I guess, but for both MC’s it’s safe. Some jealousy about OW, but that was nothing. Teddy only had eyes for Holly. Loved that he’d never mistaken Stella for Holly. He just felt it was Holly and could keep them apart easily.

Ok so that has completely put me in the mood for Christmas and it's October. I literally put the book down for a minute and google searched Christmas villages and real trees. Before I had to pick it up and find out what was going to happen next.

This book was super cute. Classic best friends’ sister with a complete holiday theme that just made me want to not put it down. I read the whole book wishing I could accompany it with eggnog and Christmas movies in the background.

Holly and Teddy were both really sweet and low maintenance and really relatable. I enjoyed their story, but I have to admit I'm really looking forward to the next one even more. Because that small taste was enough to have me dying to get my hands on the book and hopefully, we get to see more of Holly and Teddy too.

Holly and Teddy’s love story was cute, and a whole lot sexy.

It’s told solely through Holly’s point of view, which should make some of Teddy’s actions more confusing. But since he’s kind of an open book, Holly usually reads him well–it’s just that she doesn’t trust her interpretation. She’s quite unsure and lacks confidence in herself. It bothered me because she’s had relationships before, and she got to home base with them, so she should have some experience with men. But she’s a mess when talking to Teddy. It felt like the author wanted Holly to have this trait, but refused to make her a virgin for some reason, creating some inconsistencies in my opinion.

Teddy is kind of a gentle giant. They had some interactions before–especially on previous Christmas time–so they know each other. It made for interesting scenes. They already have obvious feelings for each other, but they use their time together to get more intimate, to show the other that they remember stuff about them because they’re interested, and to share some cute and sexy moments, Christmas flavored.

Every Christmas tradition is explored. Holly is kind of a Christmas freak, and the holiday has a more bittersweet significance for Teddy, but spending that special time together means something.

There’s a touch of forbidden romance since Teddy is Holly’s brother’s best friend. Felix is a bit older than his sisters, so his protective streak is understandable. And it doesn’t hold long when he sees them together–because, in the end, he loves them both, and trust them together. Yet the author manages to create a conflict through Felix, and I felt it was weak.

Despite its tiny flaws, this book is a good addition to both sports romances and holiday romances.

Quickie

- Series: Holidays with the players #1 (can be read as a standalone, but linked to other series by the author)
- Hashtags: #sports romance #college romance #holiday romance #football #brother’s best friend #forced cohabitation
- Triggers: past death
- Main couple: Holly Walters & Theodore Radford
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + cute Christmas romance
- – the little conflict wasn’t much believable, maybe we needed to see more interactions between Teddy and Holly’s brother to see the friendship

there is literally not much to say about this book; it is a sweet and silly holiday romance novella featuring brother's best friend, forced proximity, good guy x shy girl, and she falls first. it was definitely not a life-changing experience, but it was sweet nonetheless.

i was not expecting anything from this story, mainly because it is extremely short. i'm not the novella type of girl, so i expected this to be a little snack in between other books, but it was surprisingly not bad and actually enjoyable! even though the characters were extremely bland and full of cliches, i flew through the pages and was thankful for all the christmas vibes, since i seem to enjoy holiday romances a lot (i found out about it this year, and i'm into it).

if you want a quick read and like christmas vibes, read this book. i have the feeling that the second book in this series will be way better than this one, simply because beau is so much more interesting than everyone combined, so i think i will read it soon.

Short, sweet, boring. I just don't understand the appeal of the brother's-best-friend trope. The inherent "conflict" there is so dumb. Your sibling or best friend shouldn't have that much power over who you choose to date.

Also, this probably won't matter to anyone else but I was so uncomfortable when

Snowed in the Player is set in the Valley U world and is a fun, sweet read that I couldn’t put down! I read this new adult romance in one sitting and I could help but smile the entire time.

Holly is an endearing heroine. A twin, the shy one, has a massive crush on her brother’s best friend and football player, Teddy. She is a lovable character that I would love to have as a friend. Teddy is the ideal boyfriend. He not only possesses stunning good looks that attract the eye of many ladies, but he is also a kindhearted soul and a hero that is impossible not the like.

The brother’s best friend trope is a favorite of mine and I love how this author crafted a story that was sweet but also a bit steamy with a good mix of humor and a minimal amount of drama. For a novella, the character development is rather remarkable and I really enjoy this author’s storytelling. There are fun festive moments which I quite liked and I loved all the characters, including the secondary ones as well! This enchanting brother’s best friend, college sports romance is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit!

I voluntarily read an early version of this manuscript. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

A fun and quirky read from Jenshak as we get snowed in with the brother’s best friend. It is a great read leading into cozy time as the cooler weather hits us and I loved the wit and banter between characters that are a part of the Valley U world. While the story is short, I felt that it was not lacking anything. It had all the swoon and banter that keeps you on your toes and honestly just makes your heart happy! Great novella!

This was seriously such a cute and perfect holiday novella. It’s no secret that I love Rebecca Jenshak’s writing. She has a way of writing stories that will put a smile on your face. I couldn’t stop grinning while reading this story.

It’s a brothers friend, friends to lovers type romance. The hero is a football player, the heroine in a twin who is used to getting over looked. The moments between Holly and Theo were so sweet, this will seriously give you those warm and fuzzies.

This is the story of what happens if you get snowed in with your long time crush, and I definitely recommend. Rebecca is definitely one of my favorite swoony romance writers.

Hollys twin sister Stella will be getting a story as well, and I’m equally excited for that one.
