Fender…
One night. That’s all it takes for a person’s life to forever be changed. One chaotic, unexpected, inevitable night and hundreds of bullets, two of them hitting my parents. I was born to be a Soulless King, born with sworn enemies and a loyal streak. Like a phoenix, I rise from the ash and vow to bring hell upon those responsible.

The problem with my vow is I’m not sure who is to blame. They tell me it’s the temptress with emerald eyes, the one who used to share my bed. How can I be sure since she left without giving me the chance to find out the truth?

Now that she’s back, she won’t get away before I ask my questions. But what if I don’t like the answers?

Charlie:
As the princess of the Black Savages, I was raised to believe one thing: my club is my family, no matter what. But when they are responsible for shattering the life I created, I do the only thing I can. I run.

The thing about running is I can’t do it forever. Life, past transgressions, tragedy… they hunt me down and drag me back, shoving me into the deep end of fate. And fate is a fickle bitch.

What if my fate is with him, the president of the Black Savages’ sworn enemy?

Fender and Charlotte fall in love despite being from rivals clubs. Fender’s parents are killed by members of h’s club in an attack at his clubhouse. H’s MC brothers think Charlotte played a part in the attack (even though she actually killed one of her own club’s member who was about to kill H). There’s no evidence to support Fender’s club brother’s suspicions, but he believes them anyway.

Fast forward 4 years, Charlie our h, is back in town attending her dad’s funeral. She spent the last four years after the shootings on the other side of the country. H still thinks she had a hand in the attack on his club. Fender is now president of his club. He and 4 of his brothers go to kidnap the h from a mall parking lot. She puts up a fight and Joker, one of his MC besties, closed-fist punches her in the side of her head. She’s spitting blood after that. 😡They then proceed to take her back to their club’s torture chamber. They keep asking her if she had anything to do with the attack, she says no, they don’t believe her. Piston, the H’s VP, proceeds to taser her and backhand her twice, making her spit blood again. This is where the author loses me. The story unfolds, with the H eventually realizing he was mistaken, he does ends up apologizing for not believing her. But the physical abuse of Charlie at the hands of Fender and his club seem to be completely forgotten. Within a day she’s totally fine with both Joker and Piston who abused her. No apologies needed. 🤯 Call me crazy, but I really don’t think being punched in the face repeatedly and tased is easily forgotten, especially after only one day. Really, you trust these guys and your man when they could do that to you? I’d be livid for life.

I have read numerous books by Ms. Rhodes but Ms. Cypher is a new author to me and I think these two are fantastic together!! Amazing story with well developed characters and an intriguing and gripping storyline. There is plenty of excitement with twists and turns everywhere. Fender and Charlie’s romance has that Romeo and Juliet feel to it, rival families, betrayal and angst. In this page-turner will they be able be able to overcome their family’s rivalry to get their HEA?

This book is phenomenal. Fender and Charlie have a horrid past. Years later, she is back and he needs answers. This book takes you on journey of hatred, love, revenge and vengeance. Excellent writing.

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This is the first book in the Soulless Kings MC series and what an explosive start. I loved Fender and how he is so loyal to his club. Charlie was so strong and never lost what was truly inside her. They both faced horrendeous acts that led to doubt in both their minds. I truly loved the twists and how there was nothing they wouldn't do for those they were loyal to. Truly an amazing start and I can't wait to dive into Joker's story next.
Fender is book one in the Soulless Kings MC series by Andi Rhodes and Nicole Cypher. The book focuses on Fender and Charlie who have a history which turned violent and chaotic one night which ended in Charlie running for her life and Fender trying to pick up the pieces of his life after the murder of his parents and the destruction of his MC. Not knowing Charlie’s motives and thinking she had something to do with all the carnage, he believes his MC brothers when they say she was involved. Charlie coming back into the picture years later makes for the perfect time for revenge, but not everything is what it seems, if only Fender could believe what Charlie says.
This was a good book, it had moments of being dark and gritty especially from the side of Charlie who is fighting to clear her name every chance she can get. Fender can sometimes be harsh with Charlie and tends to believe what his MC brothers say without really any proof which was frustrating at points, especially when he had such big feelings for her and knew that she belonged to another MC.
The story develops as we see Charlie trying to make piece with that night as well as fight her attraction for Fender ( who she’s never forgot), try to heal past hurts with the rest of her family and stay off the Soulless Kings radar as she is always going to be guilty in their eyes until the proof is thrust upon them. Charlie was definitely the stronger character in the book with her bike riding ways and saying what she thought, and it will be interesting to see if she pops up in future books. Overall, a good start to a new series.
I really enjoyed this first in a new MC series book. It’s a little dark and gritty but honestly I expect that from an MC story.
This is a second chance story about Fender and Charlotte (Charlie) who are both parts of rival MC’s.
Without giving spoilers there is an incident at the beginning that I think Charlie forgave Fender for WAY to easily for. If not for this I would have given 5 stars because I loved the story and the secondary characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series.
I really love a realistic and gritty MC read. This gave me that plus some. I’m even ok when that realism gets ugly, which it did. What I struggled with in this book was that after the way Charlie was treated, there was zero accountability. Fender was like “oh well, my bad” and she was like “no problem babe”…… let the banging begin.
I was a bit stunned. This could have been a heck of a book, because it’s not often you get an author brave enough to really let it all loose on the heroine. But, I either wish Charlie would have been a bit stronger in her anger or Fender more remorseful for the way he and his club treated her.
Great start to a new MC Series. Charlie is coming back home when her father passes away and had no clue that Fender was now the Club Prez for the Soulless Kings. Fender thought that Charlie was responsible for his parent’s death and is shocked that he is falling for her. Will he find out the truth? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, steam and suspense. Great characters and very entertaining. I liked it.
Fender and Charlie’s story is “complicated” as they say but it was a wonderful ride to their HEA. I couldn’t help but laugh during the good times and cry during the “complicated” times. I am told that is one of the highest compliments you can give...being touched by a story so much that you get to run through a variety of emotions whether it’s a movie or a book. Fender and Charlie’s personalities shine through and it just makes their story all that more enjoyable. I could not put this book down. Started to read it at 8 pm and finished it around 7 am. I did take a short nap in between but mostly read the whole night I wanted to see what was happening and to see if Fender and Charlie’s got their HEA. I know it’s the assumed outcome of almost all romances but at one point I was wondering if the author was going to end without one and I am so glad that didn’t happen. Almost forgot to mention that there are some really steamy sex love scenes that keeps you wanting to keep reading. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read MC roamnaces.
DNF - I love MC romance and I don't mind darkness but the hero literally punched and drugged the heroine in the first 20 pages of the book... He was a coward but was praised as an alpha. No thanks.
★A beautiful love story
A new MC series? Yes, please. This book blew me away in the best possible way. I couldn’t help but be captivated by the amazingly written story and a raw, dark, twisted, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, darkly beautiful storyline – plot that the authors so skillfully intertwined and told. This book and series should read every romantic suspense and MC lover. It was well developed, well written and well thought out with so much depth, powerful, effortless and at times dark storytelling. The authors knew how to develop, create the storyline and make you fall in love with their words, plot and the characters demanding your attention, creating many unpredictable twists and turns, while delivering an intense, unconventional and passionate love story / romance between Fender and Charlie that I devoured in one sitting. An emotional story that will hit you straight in the feels but ticks all the boxes with how riveting, engaging plot is and intense action. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with chaos, tragedy, revenge, danger, simmering heat, love, healing, brotherhood, family, secrets and revelations.
Fender is the President of the Soulless Kings MC. Charlie - Charlotte is the daughter of the President of the Black Savages, the rival MC of the Soulless Kings. Even though Fender and Charlie are raised in the same MC world it feels like their worlds are miles apart because of the rivalry between their clubs. They met at the young age and fell in love. These two are shouldn’t be together and have no business being in each other’s orbit, yet they always gravitated towards each other. Their pull was always strong. They are deliciously angsty, forbidden and passionate. The chemistry between them is insane. The time spent apart didn’t diminish their feelings nor their love. Their love story is not perfect. It’s layered, loud, angsty, fast paced, real, raw, gut-wrenching, gritty and emotional. Fender endured a tragic loss and Charlie was no longer trusted so she ran away. There are a lot of misunderstandings and questions. They both have enough emotional baggage to deal with. My heart hurt for both of them and what they both went through. With danger surrounding them, it’s become even harder to deal with their past and unresolved feelings. Neither of them liked being vulnerable with each other but that is exactly what needed to happen in order for them to start fresh and begin a relationship.
A brilliant start to a new series. Each book can be read as a standalone but if you are like I am, you definitely will want to start from the beginning enjoying the ride, getting to know characters and their background. Can’t wait for the next book.
They were born and raised in an MC, her an MC Princess, but they are from MC’s that are at war with each other. How can they ever make a relationship work? One tragic night, everything they had is ripped away from them and now they are both just walking through life, but not living.
Fender and Charlotte “Charlie” met as young teens, although they are both from the MC world, they are from two different MC’s and they aren’t exactly friendly with each other. When there is an attack on the Soulless Kings MC club house and loss of members from both MC’s, the Soulless Kings are devastated, and Fender is frozen in his spot. When Charlie comes out of Fender’s room to see what’s going on and helps, Fender’s best friend and another brother turn on Charlie and blame her for the attack. Fender is too shocked to do anything and questions everything. He not only lost family that day, he lost his whole world. Will he ever recover? Will he ever find anyone to share his life with? He has so many questions and so much hate that he’s become hard and dangerous.
Charlie is so devastated that Fender didn’t defend her that when she is told to leave the club house, she walks out the door and keeps going. She even leaves her own MC family and go across the country to try to find a life away from the death and destruction. When her father dies from natural causes, she returns home to honor her father and her family. The trouble is that there are so many in her own MC family that has turned on her and don’t want her back. They believe she’s a traitor. Her father was the President of the Black Savages, so she’s an MC princess, but she wants nothing to do with that title or the life since she lost her soulmate four years ago due to the carnage that showed up in his MC club house.
I love Andi Rhodes and her writing. I have read one of Nicole Cypher's books in the past, and this book did not disappoint. With the combination of these writers came a story with so many feels. The devastation at the beginning, the turmoil upon Charlie’s return, the indecisiveness of the true culprits of the attack, the reason coming to light, and the actions of Fender, his brothers, and the Black Savages, had me hanging on the edge of each page to finish the book, but I was not ready for it to be done. I love the characters, the story, and the whole package. I was crying, cringing, and rooting for Fender and Charlie to find their way back to each other. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for more with the Soulless Kings MC. I hope there are more to come soon.
Would I Recommend? Absolutely!
My Review: I LOVED LOVED LOVED Fender! This was an awesome second-chance biker romance with great characters. Fender is pure alpha. He’s endured a tragic loss in his MC and on top of that the love of his life, Charlie, ran away when he needed her most. He’s spent 4 years raging against his emotions, hating Charlie and blaming her for her assumed involvement in the MC’s ambush. He’s angry, hurt and dangerous. Charlie on the other hand has spent 4 years in purgatory. She’s back in town because of her father’s recent death and has to confront her past and Fender...and he’s out for her blood! This book was so deliciously angsty and passionate. The chemistry between Fender and Charlie was explosive! I love reading books like this when two characters have to fight their way back from the brink and when they come together they ignite the pages! Hopefully we’ll see more of Fender and Charlie in future books. Great read, I highly recommend!
What a thrilling, gut wrenching ride Fender’s story is. The authors gave us an emotional journey that was as heartbreaking as it was heartwarming. A gripping tale of two lovers who stood on opposite sides of an MC war. The storyline was intense and the characters, while they broke my heart at times, had me in their clutches from start to finish.
Fender is the Prince of the Soulless Kings MC, due to one day take-over the Prez reigns from his father. Charlie is the Princess of the Black Savages MC. Two people that had no business being together yet their love for one another couldn’t be denied. That is until one fateful night that the Black Savages raided the Soulless Kings Clubhouse. A night that resulted in deaths on both sides, including Fender’s parents, as well as a night that sealed Fender and Charlie's fate with each other as well as their respective clubs. She was no longer trusted - was she truly in love with Fender or was she a pawn to set up and destroy the Soulless Kings. Charlie ran that fateful night and Fender became Prez of the Soulless Kings. Fast forward four years - Charlie returns for her father’s funeral. She is shunned by most of the Black Savages as a trader and she is wanted by the Soulless Kings MC brothers for her part in that fateful night. But who’s really to blame and what’s behind all the hurt and fury makes for one very thrilling, twisted ride.
This is an exciting MC action/romance that kept me reading well into the night and this reader can’t wait for book two in the series. I highly recommend grabbing up Fender (book 1 of the Soulless Kings) and getting in from the start, you won’t regret it.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
Love & War with Rival Clubs
This is the first in the Soulless Kings MC series and if the rest are going to be anything like this it will definitely be a one click book for me. Charlie, who happens to be the Black Savages MC princess, was drawn to Fender who was a Soulless King and they were young love with no idea what was about to happen to change their lives.
The Soulless Kings MC and the Black Savages MC have been at war for a long time and with the Black Savages coming into the Soulless Kings MC clubhouse massacring a lot of its members, including Fender’s parents, the clubs’ wars were about to turn even more bloody. Some of the Soulless Kings thought it was Charlie who had tipped off the attack so with both clubs blaming her for what happened she took off for four years. It was her father’s passing that brought her back and with her absence she had no idea Fender was now the Prez for the Soulless Kings. Did Fender really think that the girl he was falling in love with all those years ago really set everything up that also took his parents’ lives? Charlie’ club had already treated her as an outsider especially since was known to be with Fender.
The intensity of this book was high level. I fell in biker love with Fender and Charlie. She was no wallflower and a formidable match for Fender. Could their love for each other be found again and even if it was where would that leave Charlie with neither club wanting her? The chemistry was intense and the suspense of this story left me not being able to put the book down.
This was definitely a 5* read for me!!
Told in both POVs, no other women drama, but there were be blood shed. Gritty biker romance with enough dark to make it rough but not so rough.
Chris ‘Fender’ lost more then his brother’s the night when their rivals slaughtered their clubhouse, he lost his loving parents and his heart, Charlie. Even though she protected him from one of her own he still pushed her away, not knowing it would be the last time he ever lay eyes on her again for years. That night killed the goodness in him and was reborn into a darker force.
Charlotte ‘Charlie/Che’ was born into the Black Savages, the eldest daughter of the president, but her heart belonged to. Soulless King. The night that changed their lives is the night also became a traitor to her family, she killed her father’s Sargent of Arms, but he might have save Fender but he wasn’t saving her from his brothers accusations. She ran, to year to North Carolina from Oregon.
The night that changed their lives, that his own brother’s planted seeds of doubt, rage, hurt and leering their words of Charlie is to be blamed for the slaughter, will fest and eat away at Fender, but when he sees Charlie for the first time at her father’s funeral, his doubts come raging forth. He wants answers and he wants them now and kidnapping Charlie, find ways to make her talk by his hands or the hands of his brothers by any means necessary.
Will Fender believe the only women he still shares a tattoo with and loves? Or will the past repeat itself with an unlikely candidate in her family?
It took me a chapter or two to get hooked to by the story. Fender and Charlie were star crossed lovers years ago. The children of rival MCs, they fell in love. Then tragedy struck and Charlie fled all the way across the country to outrun a broken heart. Now she is back because her dad is dead. Fender listened to his brothers and thinks that Charlie betrayed him. He comes to the funeral knowing that Charlie will probably be there. Seeing her fuels his anger and he takes steps to get the answers he seeks. How he goes about it is where I had some trouble. The steps he takes and how Charlie reacts, I didn't agree with. Sure she isn't some little princess, she is tough but this... I don't think that I would have forgiven so easily. I would have thought that she would have been angry and held onto that for a little bit. I really liked that she rode a motorcycle too and knew engines. The underlying cause of the violence between the two clubs that split Fender and Charlie apart was shocking. I loved it, I didn't see it coming. There was a small issue in the epilogue where he talked about a cut that she wore that was never mentioned previously and then he gives her one right after that. It had a few places where the writing was a little disjointed and awkward but overall a good read. I will be checking out the next book to see where this series goes from here.
If you like Romeo and Romeo and Juliet, then you will LOVE Fender by Andi Rhodes!
While I was looking forward to reading this book because of it being a MC romance, I was not expecting it to really be in the line of the great bard himself, Mr. Shakespeare - just more violent, especially between the two main characters.
Don't get me wrong, the book is extremely well written and the characters, while being @@$$holes (the male protagonist is) are also quite likeable once you get past all of the hurt and anger they carry. All I can say is THANK GOD there's a HEA to this story or I would do to this book what I did to my copy of Romeo of Juliet in High School and flush it down the toilet!! Because really, who the hell needs a repeat of two teenagers killing themselves for a stupid fight between their parents in our screwed up world?
That being said however, the love between the two main characters is obvious, and I almost feel jealous of a book. I would give almost anything to find a love like that displayed in this story.
This is my first story by Ms. Rhodes, and I am looking forward to checking out at least one or two more to compare this one to. I hope there will be other books to go along with this one as it would make a good series.
OH MY HELL! These two authors brought the thunder with Fender, and they meshed perfectly together. Fender was born into the Soulless Kings MC, but he fell hard for a Black Savages princess named Charlie despite the two clubs being enemies. And one night changed their lives when the Black Savages attacked the Soulless Kings, and everyone blamed Charlie, and Fender didn't stick up for her. She left town quickly after, but when her father dies, she comes home, though no one in her family is glad she's back either. By this time, Fender hates her because he let the suspicions of his brothers to permeate him making him dark, so they kidnap her one day to make her talk. This is the Fender that I hated because he was willing to let the brothers take turns to torture her for answers, and I believed Charlie forgave him too quickly. That action sparked the war between these two clubs again, with Charlie being in the center of it all. And that's all I'm going to say about that since it's now time for y'all to hit your one click buttons! I CANNOT WAIT for more in this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Felt different - which is good..
Loved the storyline. I felt like this had a different feel from most biker books I read, and it was refreshing. I also felt like it had a nice twist I actually didn’t see coming, and I always pride myself on finding the twists before it smacks you in the face. So I’m super happy the author got me on that one. I have to say, I liked the reason for the feud of the two MCs... and that Fender and Charlotte are basically a Romeo and Juliette plot. Though, I didn’t always like how Fender was towards her, and I felt he could be too hard and not enough soft. I also felt at times that Charlotte shouldn’t have given in so quick to him about multiple things. I needed her to be tougher in that area... but I do love that she wasn’t a doormat and was a strong female character. And.... I actually liked Piston a lot, as well as Sylvia. I hope I see more of them in their own stories. I came to even enjoy Joker and Riker- even though these guys were Charlotte’s harshest critics. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this group.
Love this book. Love Fender and Charlie’s romance story. Charlie is the club princess to the rivals of the Soulless Kings MC. Fender and Charlie start a secret relationship but her father’s club, Black Savages MC, ends up attacking the Soulless Kings. Fender’s brothers believe that she is the cause behind the attack. Even though she pleads her innocence, Fender’s brothers put doubts in his head. This results in Charlie leaving town.
Four years later, Charlie is back in town for her father’s funeral. Fender and his brothers believe this is the time that they can finally get answers. The Soulless Kings end up kidnapping Charlie and interrogating her. Charlie continues to claim her innocence. Fender and one of his brothers finally believe her after they come into contact with Black Savages MC. Black Savage pretty much told Fender that Charlie knew nothing of the attack. Charlie is finally set loose from the Soulless Kings. When she returns home, she learns the truth of why the Black Savages attacked that night. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read
I greatly enjoyed this action-filled star-crossed lovers dark MC romance.
Fender and Charlie had great chemistry. They were in love but they were from rivalry MC clubs. One tragic night had torn them apart and left Fender with so many unanswered questions. The plot was simple but the action and suspense were engaging and gripping.
This book introduced an interesting cast of characters and I cannot wait to read about the other protective, loyal and gruffy bikers.
(4 stars)
When you fall in love with someone from another MC, that just so happens to be the enemy of the MC that you belong too, all sorts of trouble follows. Fender and Charlie didn't get very long to enjoy being in love. A horrible night of bullets, chaos, and death made the choice for them. Loyalty to his club is the reason that Fender chose the MC over Charlie. Now, Charlie is back and in the crosshairs of both MC's once again. She had proved her loyalty once before, now its time for Fender to prove his. Does it have to come down to Charlie or the MC? Will he have to make that choice once again?
This proved to be a super entertaining MC read. Filled with danger, violence, some spicy moments, and a good bit of drama. A few things didn't add up for me, and had me scratching my head; but I do give this 4 stars as it was entertaining.
Fender (Soulless kings MC 1)
This is the first book in this series by these authors. What an amazing start to this series this book is. This is the story of Charlie and Fender, these two characters have an amazing relationship between them. This is a fast paced, grippy read which will have you reading longs into the night. This story has plenty of drama, suspense, emotions, chemistry, intense and at the middle of this story there is a beautiful love story. This book will leave you wanting and needing more from these two authors.
I was given a copy of this book and this is my honest review
Fantastic Start!
This is a fantastic start to this new MC series. It's raw, gritty and dark. It will keep you enthralled and entertained from beginning to end. The story will take you on an action packed and emotional journey with the Soulless Kings MC's!
Fender and Charlie are intense and their chemistry is undeniable. Charlie is strong and fierce, which makes her the ultimate partner for Fender. They are a perfect match but can they make it work? They both have some serious issues to work out and their pasts seem to hold them back from moving forward.
Be ready to be taken on an intense and wild ride with the Soulless Kings MC. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Highly recommend.
didn't realize this was a new read ... i want more ... (rolling on the floor crying, like being totally dramatic, but i thought for sure there would be another MC Romance to follow this one??!) pooh!! I totally want another ... drawing a blank on one of Fender's side kicks ... "Jester" no "Joker" ... Joker ...i think??! it was a J name ... poohie ... any who .. i wanna know more about him ... he seems fun. i love picking out my favorite biker ... interesting back story ...some of the story i can read ... another parts i am not really interested in .. meaning i would prefer to hear the "love story" over the fighting and all that silliness ... look forward to more from these authors asap!! please!! Fender and Charlie
Prez and rivel club princess--what a match!
If you ever saw a match made it NEVER-EVER land this is it. That they didn't know when they began is one thing. But after a nightmare attack, the break-up is inevitable.
Time passes and they change but she has to come home for a family trauma. Is there any way for them to rekindle what they had? Will he honor his club and blood family or the woman he can't forget?
There are surprises, secrets revealed, temptation, tested loyalties, friendship, and plenty of steam. An unusual romance with people torn between their love for blood and club families. Wonderful characters the author is known for and doesn't disappoint.
Fender and Charlotte have an Infinite love for one another that turns to all out hate after the horrific events of one night. Lovers of rival enemy MC clubs that try to see past the hate of one another's clubs is hard when one of you is an MC princess and the other is the son of the MC president. The events of what happened in one night turns both their worlds upside down and changes them into different people that years later they almost don't recognize, but their love and devotion for each other is still there and how much are they willing to lose to keep it. This was a great MC read filled with so much angst, steam, revenge and characters I cannot wait to see more of. It is a must read!!
