New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby returns to tales beyond the natural and normal with her brand-new, captivating paranormal romance series that is sure to capture your heart and make you believe in magic.

Returning to her beloved home of Salem after a trip away, Lucy Finch can’t shake the feeling of anxiety that suddenly plagues her. Nor can she shrug off her third eye’s urging that she has a mission she must undertake—a secret she must uncover.

As a green witch, Lucy has always felt strongest and the most at home in the forest, surrounded by nature. But when a disturbing dream wakes her and sends her fleeing into the woods, she isn’t prepared for what she finds. She expected her element. Perhaps a message from spirit. She didn’t expect to cross paths with a sexy-as-sin man, straight out of a movie scene.

Jonas Morley isn’t like the other residents of Hallows End. He knows the town’s secrets, as well as Salem’s, and it has been his honor and duty to protect them for as long as he can remember. But the gorgeous witch who graces the town’s hidden border shakes him and makes him second-guess his directive. She calls to him like no other. But can he save his home and those under his care and still make her his? Or will their union mean danger and destruction for not only them but also those who live within the town’s borders?

Curses don’t discriminate, and the curse of the blood moon is the most determined and dangerous of all.

Hallows End is the first book in the Curse of the Blood Moon Series.

It's been a while since I've read stories about Salem and witches and I was really excited to read it. To read about an ancient curse that was cast upon a small town was definately a go for me.

Lucy is a very nice heroine. She was smart, calm and very capable at being a witch. She wasn't expecting to find her soul mate in the face of Jonas. And her dog Nera, he was a good and loyal to her.

We have a lot iof nice scenes between Lucy and Jonas, even though that that they are not very detailed. They did fell in love quite quickly, bit that was really really okay for me 😁. Because what else is a person expected to do when he finds his/her soul mate.

I am really excited for the next books in the series. Brenna and Giles will be next, and I want to see how her unrequired love turns to a soul mate love ♥️.

And to be honest I am more excited about Lorelai and Xander. This will be soo soo good. You can definately see that they are both in love with each other, but they have things to sort out 🥰🥰🥰.

***I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.***

After meeting Lucy in the Bayou Magic series, I knew that I would have to read her story!!

Kristen Proby's brand-new Curse of the Blood Moon series follows Lucy, a green witch as she returns home from fighting one of the worst forces she has ever seen. Back home in Salem Lucy is still uneasy and she can't figure out why. After waking from a terrible nightmare Lucy flees to the forest, a place she has always felt at peace. She never expected to see a man that calls to every part of her, but the problem is she has no idea who he is.

Jonas has lived with secrets far longer than anyone should have to. He holds all the secrets to the town he has called home for as long as he can remember, Hallows End. One night he comes across a witch who might just hold all the secrets to Jonas himself and with those answers he might be able to help the people of Hallows End before it is too late.

I was going to just read this series but when I found out Sebastian York was narrating, I knew I had to do the audiobook. I have never seen Sebastian do a paranormal or fantasy book. Not that he hasn't I just haven't seen it. He did such a good job with Jonas even with the spells. That man really is a unicorn. Samantha Brentmoor is a newish to me narrator, but I loved her narration so much. She gave a beautiful portrayal of a witch desperate to do anything she can to save those that she loves.

Kristen Proby's paranormal books are some of my favorites. They have a delicious mix of the paranormal with that touch of sexy that has me wanting the story to never end. We have just started to see what is going to happen between Salem and Hallows End and I can't wait for the next installment!!

3.5 stars (rounded up)

this was a really fun low stakes paranormal romance book! it definitely has potential of becoming a comfort series as more books come out.

this book follows three cousins who are witches and live in modern day Salem, but weird things have been happening and a mystery arises that could impact the survival of their coven.

the book was short and sweet and just the spooky read i needed to kick off october. The magic and lore was fleshed out and interesting and the witches in this universe all have an “affinity” or “calling” that controls what type of magic they do. it was cool and my nerd brain was living.

each cousin is going to get their own romance and I AM PUMPED. it also seems like the over arching mystery is going to spread out throughout all the books and it’s giving the black dagger brotherhood but make it witches.

i think all the books are going to have the fated mates trope AND the soul mark trope (i am so excited), but i also think they get an added trope. this book was stranger to lovers, and i believe the next book is friends-to-lovers/unrequited love and the last one is second chance!!!!!

yes the love was insta lovey, and yes the book was a little on the shorter side and could have benefited from more pages to flesh out the story, but it was fun. i had fun reading it and i’m so excited for the sequel!

thank you Valentine PR for the eARC in exchange of an honest review.

4.5 star Review Hallows End (The Curse of the Blood Moon #1) by Kristen Proby
Paranormal is not normally a genre that I read but having read and loved a number of books by Kristen Proby I decided to read Hallows End, the first book in her latest series, The Curse Of The Blood Moon. This books spans time, set in modern day Salem, Massachusetts (a place I have always wanted to visit) where Luciana (Lucy) Finch, a Green Witch lives with her aunts and cousins.
Jonas Morley is a Warlock who lives in cursed Hallows End, outside of Salem in 1692and he can move between worlds. I have to say I was intrigued and found myself becoming invested in the story that Ms.Proby wove. This book is totally different to the previous books I have read by the author and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
The chemistry between Lucy and Jonas sizzled and I was wondering how they could sustain a relationship whilst living in different times and yet Kristen Proby managed it. There is drama, suspense, mystery and magic as well as romance and it all blended together to make an entertaining read.
As danger comes to present day Salem, Lucy and her coven of witches will be put in danger as someone wants them dead. Can Lucy and Jonas together break the curse or are they destined to live apart forever?
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see how the story continues.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC in return for my honest review.

The chemistry between Lucy and Jonas was leaking from the pages!! The supporting characters were all wonderful! The author does an Amazing job with her descriptions, it makes you feel like you’re actually in the book and not just reading it.

Lucy is a Green Witch who lives in a small town surrounded by her family. Lately she and her fellow witches have been having ominous dreams - they know something is coming, but have no idea just how bad it will end up being. Jonas is a fellow witch, he just happens to be from a different time and different place, but can move easily among places and times. No one's ever been able to see him while doing this, but one night a beautiful Lucy sees him. He easily feels their connection, and it's partly this connection that will help with the coming evil.

Jonas has lived centuries, is a powerful witch in his own right. He laid a curse centuries ago, but now, now's the time to lift that curse. With Lucy by his side, and her powerful family, he can finally lay the evil to rest, and live on with his soulmate. Will they prevail? Or is the coming storm just the beginning?

I will admit to not reading a lot of paranormal these days. But when I see that Kristen has started another paranormal series, I have to read it, and I am so glad I did because Hallows End more than lives up to the high bar she set with her other paranormal series that I loved so much, Bayou Magic. Jonas and Lucy's connection is so strong and their connection is electric, I can easily see them making a relationship work that spans timelines and different worlds. I loved this story and am anxiously awaiting Breena and Giles' story next, Cauldrons Call. I can already tell there's a lot more to come in this series, more fantastical, supernatural happenings, and a lot more couples to fall head over heels.

Witches are usually not my thing but I have been keeping an open mind lately and listening to them more and more. And Kristen Proby is an author I love to listen to so I thought I would give it a shot.

I quite enjoyed it!
I liked that we got Lucy yes but we also got her group/ if you want to call it her coven you can I would. Though they don’t.

I wasn’t too sure about Jonas but he has proven himself to be just as in love with Lucy as she is with him. And he wants to protect her at all costs.

The only issue is Jona’s is stick in Hallows End because of a spell he has casted to protect the town only he can’t break it and it's been over 330 years. He is the only one who can cross from this time and back.

The book gives us a good bit of backstory without feeling like it was too much. I can’t wait to dive into book 2. I have to know what is going to happen.

The narration is my favourite part, Sebastian and Samantha are perfect for these characters.

This book is so unique and intriguing. Every chapter had me hooked all over again, and I simply couldn’t put it down until I’d finished. This author really knows how to pull the characters emotions out just for the readers to feel as if we were right there experiencing it with them. I have ALWAYS loved fantasy fiction, especially involving witches and magic, but nothing I’ve ever read was remotely similar to this story. I genuinely cannot wait to see what’s coming next for this coven in the series.

This book is set in modern day Salem, Massachusetts. However, the mmc (Jonas) is stuck in 1692 in a small village called Hallows End just outside of Salem. He and his coven placed a curse on their village over 300 years prior, to protect themselves from the impending doom of the witch trials happening all over the US. The curse was supposed to be broken after a few years, but that didn’t happen. They repeat the month of October every single month, and they all reset with the new moon, except for Jonas. Only he remembers the curse, only he knows how much time has passed, and only he can move between worlds. During this time moving between modern day Salem, and his home in Hallows End, he meets Lucy. Lucy is one of three cousins in a coven of witches in Salem. Lucy is a green witch, Breena is a hearth witch, and Lorelei is a sea witch who just moved home after years away. Turns out, Lucy is Jonas’ soul mate. However, all is not well. Something sinister is happening in Salem right before All Hallow’s Eve. Something, or someone, wants Lucy and her cousins dead. It already got Lucy’s mother, and at least one witch every year prior, will it get to them as well? Or will the coven finally be strong enough with Jonas to help, that they can protect the lives of the witches and break this curse for good? Strange things have been happening back in Hallow’s End as well, and Lucy thinks Jonas should be spending more time there to help his village. Jonas disagrees, and it seems there’s no changing his mind.

“That if it came down to it, you wouldn’t be the one I’d choose, over and over again? What is the new term? Ah, yes. F*** that, Lucy. You are my priority, and you will be until the day I finally get to die.”

Will they ever break this curse, or will the newly matched soul mates be forced to part right after they’ve found one another? I can’t wait to find out.

Wow, this is so different and intriguing. It sucks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go. This book is about Luciana, aka Lucy, who is a Green Witch and a mysterious warlock, Jonas, who trying to save his town and lift a curse. When they meet there is an instant connection and they are fire together. I highly recommend this book. Will Lucy find out Jonas’s secrets and also help him with the curse? In order to find out, you’ll need to read this book and the rest in the series when they come out. You won’t be disappointed.

Talk about a book hangover. I seriously could not get enough of this book. I was so excited when Kristen Proby announced that she would write about PNR series, but this time based in Salem. I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. Sleep was not needed!

While reading this book, I legit had chills all over. I have recently been on a huge PNR kick, and Hallows End blew everything out of the water. I just knew a few chapters in that this would easily end up in one of my top 5 reads of the year. The story is so unique, I honestly haven’t read anything like it before.

I felt so many emotion during this read.
I do not want to give spoilers because this book is unlike any other I have read, and I want everyone to experience it.
Jonas had me seriously swooning 🥰😍

“That if it came down to it, you wouldn’t be the one I’d choose, over and over again? What is the new term? Ah, yes. F••• that, Lucy. You are my priority, and you will be until the day I finally get to die.”

I absolutely loved Lucy and her cousins!! That dynamic is something amazing and I know it will lead to an amazing series!

This is one that has me ready to preorder the audio as well because you just know it will be so good.

If you love PNR or even want to dip your toe into the PNR world, Kristen Proby knocked it out of the park with Hallows End, Curse of the Blood Moon!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if there was an option for more stars…. I would give it a 10!

This was the perfect fall-time Halloween read, and all the characters were so likable and fun to get to know. The love story between Jonas and Lucy is sweet, but I would have liked more spice. Their love is very much an insta-love, but I don't think it would have made sense to have a ton of angst for this particular story. The book would have had to be a lot longer than that.

The time travel element was creative and magical, as was where Lucy lived in Salem with the other witches. I could visualize everything so clearly. Come on, March, you better come quickly so I can get my hands on the sequel!!

"You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and didn’t know I needed, Luciana. I can’t believe you were there all this time."

“The love I feel for you is at once life-affirming and terrifying, Luciana. It is with every fiber of my being that I love you. I’m entirely under your spell, and my heart is yours to keep.”

Lucy Finch is no stranger to the paranormal but when she senses she is being watched along with a pesky sense she needs to uncover a hidden secret she calls upon those she can trust to help.

While in her garden Lucy feels like she is being watched but cannot figure out why or who it could be until one day she spots a man who walks away when he notices she has seen him.

Here is where the story gets interesting; Lucy wanting to know who this fine man is she takes a little walk through the woods to follow him but what she finds when she does leaves her wondering if she is not dreaming.

When Lucy confronts the man on what she is experiencing, she cannot believe her eyes or ears with the explanation he gives. Will Lucy believe, or will she run and ignore all that is warning her to help right a wrong that was done long ago.

If you are interested in novels about witches and the unknown this is the book for you. My description of Hallows End only gives enough to make you wonder what and who the strange man can be and what secrets he harbors.

For me this was a three and half star read since I found it close to another book Kristen Proby wrote with a few added twists.

Thank you to both Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York for their wonderful portrayal of each character

I really enjoyed this book with its witchey vibes. Perfect October read.

It’s not often that I can say a book gripped me from the beginning but this did. Right from the very first chapter I was hooked. The storyline had me on the edge of my seat throughout and has left me with so many questions. I need another instalment, NOW!

The romance between Lucy and Jonas was so sweet and heartwarming and I just want everything to work out for them.

I completely fell in love with the relationship between Lucy, Lorelei and Breena. The friendships they had was so strong and they were really strong female characters.

Honestly I just fell in love with this and cannot wait for more. Thank to Valentine Pr and Kristen for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was one of those books you could TELL was going to be good, but that first 20ish% is purely expository “telling not showing” vibes.

But because it’s so short there kind of is no time to really build the world in a “show” way without the exposition then taking half the book. HOWEVER , once you get all the context for everything, the world and magic system and main BBEG/conflict is so COOL and well done it keeps 4 stars!

And you would be right, and it is really good 🫡

I need the Xander/Lora book NOW and it’s truly evil that they’re gonna be book 3 but I’m sat for it

Since I never finished the author's other paranormal series, I was missing some information here. A few times, a battle that happened in that series left lasting effects on the FMC in this book is mentioned.

It was still readable and I enjoyed it for the most part. I'm curious enough to keep reading the other girls books.

Hallow’s End The Curse is the Blood Moon is the first book in the new Hallow’s End Series by Kristen Proby. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down. This was the perfect book for fall, and Kristen Proby always delivers great happily ever afters. It follows a family of witches that have a mystery to solve. It is suspenseful, sweet, and sexy. I loved Lucy and Jonas. They had great chemistry. The only problem is that live in different times. Can they make it work? The story involves a race against time to break the curse and an evil presence that wants to destroy it all. The only bad part is that I have to wait to next year to see what happens in the next part of the story. It’ll be worth the wait!

3.5 stars, actually.

This was a marshmallow fluff of a tale about three cousins who are witches, living in Salem, who are called on to fight a mysterious evil and help a random time traveling witch, Jonas, who is from a cursed neighborhood of Salem in the past, while supporting, loving, affirming each other and strengthening wards.

Lots of wards. They get strengthened. And then touched up by a cousin. And then another cousin proposes a ward-strengthening candle, and then the sea-affinity cousin suggests some nice lacey agate stones to support the strength of the ward.

And then the Aunties call in and say they’re praying and lighting candles to long-distance protect the wards, too.

Everyone loves everyone else and thinks they’re great…except for the big mysterious bad man, of course. We get a few pages in dark font (and italics?) of the big bad’s POV where he talks very mysteriously about wanting to get the witches.

Apparently, a witch must die each year in Salem, and that’s why Jonas originally cursed his neighborhood, so that they would be protected from the big bad but also the witch-killing.

If you are a crystal/rock nerd, or you are really into cousins who love each other, and on top of that are a fan of insta-love (Jonas and one cousin are soulmates, and instantly get crescent moon tattoos that appear on their wrists to prove it), this is the book for you.

If you’d like a little more creepiness with your cursed witch stories, or actual emotional development even when faced with instant soul mates, or want to explore the emotional ramifications of a cousin returning home to the two who stayed and the possible resentment/friction that might result…well this book isn’t going to offer that kind of edge.

Your mileage my vary, depending on what kind of witching you like best 😉 I liked Proby’s straight-forward contemporaries a bit better.

Oh My Word!!! I have closed the book but have been left with goosebumps. Hallows End was a book I didn't want to put down. If only adulting didn't get in the way. Thankfully the story was one that I could put aside for awhile and come back. It was like I had never left.

The story is riddled with an evil that has been killing on Samhain for many years. This evil has no problem taking control, manipulating and creating fear for the Witch Coven of Salem.

The witches may be powerful. The witches may be talented. The witches may have access to great knowledge. It might not be enough. They will try to save themselves. They will try to save Hallows End. But for now evil may be gone but it is not forgotten.

I can't wait for the second book in the series. Hallows End created a major rush. Let the countdown begin for Caudrons Call and the wild ride Kristen Proby is sure to bring.

I have to say im not normally drawn to paranormal romance but Kristen Proby is a go to author for me so I decided to jump into this genre, well all im going to say is I was blown away by Hallows End (The Curse of the Blood Moon #1), it was very different to what I was expecting. This book is set in modern day Salem, Massachusetts but it does span time. This is modern day witch Lucinda (Lucy) Finch and Jonas Morley a Warlock from 1692’s journey….
Jonas turns to green witch Lucy for help, he confides in her and she rallies her aunts and cousins who are also witches to help but no one knew how much danger helping Jonas would bring to Salem…..
Hallows End is a great start to the series and im excited for what’s to come in the rest of the series.

Rating edited after reading (listening) to all three books 2 stars

Review is for the whole series.

Those three books were of the wash / rinse / repeat type : they all felt the same.
+ for me the main characters were often incoherent, incredibly powerful at times and terribly weak and dumb at others.
I pushed till the last book because I wanted to know how the main plot ended (the one that gave the name to the series) and it all fizzled out in a way that the author used too often to my taste : not taking us through all of the scene per say, but suddenly skipping to some time later and making some references to what happened but definitely leaving many loose ends.

So it all could have been only one book and I might still have been disappointed.

Ohhh, this is going to be a lot of fun and it was the perfect Halloween read...although it's the kind of book you are going to want to read more than once.

That said, there is a lot in this that I am not sure how to even talk about without spoilers. And, I don't do spoilers, so I am going to say read this, enjoy it, and be excited for the next title.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Hallows End by Kristen Proby is a paranormal romance set in Salem, about a modern-day witch, Lucy Finch, and Jonas Morley, a man from the past whose town, Hallows Ends, has been hidden and frozen in time for three hundred years. One night they meet in the woods at the edge of Lucy's garden, and their meeting triggers events that will shake up the lives of inhabitants of both Salem and Hallows End. As a paranormal romance, it has all the fun elements: a spooky atmosphere, magic, curses, evil creatures, and even a murder mystery.

The book's setting reminded me of one of my favorite TV shows, Charmed. Lucy has two cousins, Breena and Lorelei, the three of them are very close, and all three are witches. The spooky atmosphere is just perfect for an October read. One aspect that disappointed me was the romance between Lucy and Jonas. It was very sudden and not well-developed. There is no anticipation, no getting to know each other and falling in love gradually, which are the best parts of romance, in my view.

I would give Hallows End four stars for the premise and the worldbuilding and two stars for romance. The main arc of the story is not resolved in this book, it will continue in the next installments, Breena's and Lorelei's books. It will be interesting to see how the story progresses.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the first book in a new series, and that is always a good thing from this talented author. There is a significant level of world building, which I am sure will be important in future installments too. I was certainly left wanting the next book as soon as I finished this one - there are plenty of questions to which I want answers!

Travelling between now and the period of the Salem witch trials, this book gives us two very engaging lead characters, supported by a significant group of friends. I loved that there is such openness to the possibilities of what they encounter, and how they may help to bring about resolution.

Lucy and Jonas clearly have a deep connection, but the issue of their age difference, and life experiences certainly makes one think! I am really curious to understand how these can be addressed as they get ever closer.

Perfectly timed for an October read, I definitely feel more Halloween ready now !

Hallows End is the wonderful new series from Kristen Proby. It has everything I love. 1. It’s a romance. 2. It’s got some serious woo-woo going on and 3. It’s a series, so the fun lasts for more than one book.
This book centres around Jonas and Lucy. Jonas makes a decision to save his family and friends during the Salem witch hunts. This decision has an impact that’s more lasting than he planned. Lucy is a witch living in Salem along with her two best friends, who are also witches. Lucy sees Jonas while out walking one night and both their lives are forever changed.
I really enjoy reading Kristen Proby’s books, she never disappoints and her paranormal books are just the next level. The woo-woo factor in this book is through the roof. This book has everything, murder, mystery, intrigue, suspense and romance. Best of all, there’s another two books to come. I’m beyond excited to read them. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the next books.
I received this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
