The Robert R. McCormick Foundation First Steps Program supports preschool-aged children as they take their first steps in a lifelong educational journey.

Access to a quality preschool

We believe in a future for Chicago where all children have access to a quality, values-based education. In partnership with the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, Big Shoulders Fund schools are providing just that.

Focused on supporting the West Englewood and Little Village neighborhoods of Chicago, The Robert R. McCormick Foundation First Steps Program aims to increase the access to high quality affordable Pre-K Programs in underserved communities.

The Program is available to eligible families seeking to enroll their child(ren) in a preschool program at one of the following five Big Shoulders Fund Plus schools.
