Baby Loss Awareness

Baby Loss Retreat

Baby Loss Retreat was set up to support families after the loss of their baby. It was founded in February 2018 by Julie and Bryan Morrison who lost their daughter Erin.
Erin was stillborn in 2003 at 37 weeks. Julie & Bryan started offering the retreat free of charge for bereaved families throughout Scotland, providing a peaceful environment to allow families time to reflect on their journey.

We are here for you

We are a local charity offering aftercare support to families who have suffered the loss of a baby at any stage resulting in Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Termination for Medical Reasons and IVF complications. We also offer support to parents who are pregnant after a loss. As parents who have suffered a stillborn in 2003, we understand your needs and want to help to other families. We are a 24 hour service offering a wide range of support.

Our aftercare support includes Counselling, Trauma Therapy and Listening Music Therapy. In addition to this, we offer 2 days respite free of charge in a peaceful location to help with the grieving process and as time to reflect as a family. After a loss, we find it hard coping in relationships or dealing with family life as we are grieving after the death of a baby and sometimes we find it difficult to focus on the future or other situations that may arise. The retreat is a safe environment and peaceful to help to reflect.

Baby Loss Retreat understands the need for care after the loss of a baby. Aftercare after a loss can be very limited and we work together with the families to help improve this and give them a voice. The team behind Baby Loss Retreat have all walked similar journeys, so rest assured you are speaking to someone who understands and cares about you and your family.

There should be no time limitations or restrictions on support after the loss of a baby.
A loss is a loss no matter the gestation.

2 retreats located in Scotland

Tucked away on the edge of the small village of Coaltown of Balgonie in the centre of the Kingdom of Fife. The panoramic uninterrupted views on this family-owned, south facing cottage makes this the ideal location for families to reflect and spend time together.

Nestled on the stunning banks of Auchenreoch Loch in Crocketford, the second retreat is a family-owned tranquil getaway surrounded with wide-open spaces near Dumfries and Galloway. The Baby Loss Retreat bench sits right on the edge of the loch and is the perfect place to reflect.

Would just like to say a huge thank you to baby loss retreat for sending us on a 2 day break away after the loss of our twin babies. We are going through the worst time of our life’s at the minute and just to get away for a couple of days to relax and reflect on everything has helped us. The work that Julie and Bryan do is amazing and it is so comforting to know that they are people you know you can speak to if you are having a bad day or whatever, we will be looking forward to attending fundraisers and events in the future and hopefully give something back to the charity after the help that they have provided us, thank you again, guys, and keep doing what you are doing ❣️???
