The Sound Table on Edgewood Avenue is hosting the Austin-based Thai pop-up Pranom for one night only tonight. The Thai pop-up, founded by Texas-born chef Dream Kasestatad, is serving an exclusively pad Thai menu beginning at 5 p.m. until the food runs out.

Vegan pad Thai will also be available along with “cold adult beverages” from The Sound Table and a 1970s Thai psychedelic soundtrack.

Kasestatad began cooking his pad Thai and takes on Thai street foods after moving to LA to pursue an acting career. In between gigs, Kasestatad would make ends meet by catering at television and movies sets around the Los Angeles area. He soon found his food in demand and began popping up at bars and restaurants throughout Hollywood before taking his pop-up on tour around the country.

Kasestatad grew up in the kitchens of his family’s Thai restaurants in Lubbock, Texas.

Pranom Thai pop-up heads to Ghost Train Brewing in Birmingham April 26 - 27 before traveling to New Orleans April 29 - 30.
