A work in progress

PLEASE for the love of all that is holy, leave the tubes at the values of what they are instead of overriding them with whatever is on the app when you connect. Right now it is impossible to fine tune a light on a set unless you connect beforehand, you will lose your settings and potentially ruin your shot if you try to tweak in the middle of anything.

There needs to be a way to gang effects across groups of lights so there can be consistency if what is projected on the tubes. Right now pixel effects are just a smattering of whatever. At the very least give us a way to do multicolor at assignable points (one half one color, one half another, etc)

Developer Response ,

Sorry for causing you such trouble during the use of the NANLINK APP. With the purpose of helping you solve this problem, we would like to ask you which tubes you have now? In fact, we're constantly upgrading the version of our APP in order to meet the needs of our users. The function of Group Control allows you to control multiple lights at the same time. And the function of Effect allows you to create multi-color that you have mentioned. So you can download the latest version of the NANLINK APP and try to see if it’s available now. If the problem cannot be solved after you have downloaded the latest version of the APP, please record your screen and send the video to support@nanlink.com. We’re waiting to get your follow-up feedback and sincerely hope the NANLINK APP can help you more.

Working Great So Far

I might update this if it becomes incredibly frustrating in the future, but with all the one and two star reviews I wanted to say that I just purchased 2 ProTube II 6Cs, and right out of the box I was able to easily connect and control them individually, and they worked great. Much easier to navigate through the app than the on light controls, though both are good, and if I’m setting up a scene, I’m glad I have a remote option, especially since I will likely be using these vertically, which would make using the built in controls difficult.

Maybe it’s just beginners luck, but to me it looks like the devs heard your complaints and worked to fix them. One effect I would love to see added, although I could probably choose a fade that would work, is a “Streetlight” mode. Like when a car is driving on a highway passing under streetlights.

Dear Chain whip, thanks so much for supporting Nanlink. Our R&D Team will keep working hard to make progress and meet the needs of our users. Hoping Nanlink App can help you more in the following lighting control process. Thanks so much for your support again!

Useable but needs improvement.

So, I was having an issue where the app would not recognize any of my T8 7X fixtures, no matter what I tried.
In the manual, there’s directions for resetting Bluetooth by pressing all 3 of the main buttons at the same time until the tube flashes blue. After doing that for each light, I was able to connect all 4 without issue and have not had a problem since.
If the app is not finding your fixture, and you have the ability to reset Bluetooth, I’d start there.
The app is definitely a bit slow and clunky. Hoping they show this some development love as I appreciate the direction and would really enjoy using a more refined version of the app.

Developer Response ,

Hi JonnyCreative, genuinely agree with you that a more refined version of NANLINK APP could bring a better user experience, which is what we are working on now. Our R&D team is still striving to fix the existing bugs and upgrade the version. For example, in the latest version upgrade, we focus on improving the smoothness and stability of product use, which could help solve the problem of “a bit slow and clunky” that you mentioned. Meanwhile, we are constantly upgrading the firmware of lights to meet the needs of our users. I hope we can provide you with more satisfactory service in the future, and thank you for your support of NANLINK!
