The Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) is located in the Fred Delchamps building in Mobile. Services are available by calling (251) 662-8000. The center is a medically monitored, short-term residential service offering 23-hour observation beds and a crisis stabilization unit for individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis and is designed to provide round-the-clock observation, medication, therapy, and psychiatric care. The BHCC employs psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, and other mental healthcare workers to care for individuals in need of assistance during a crisis.
Who is served at the BHCC? The center is designed to serve individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorder. A person experiencing a psychiatric crisis can walk in on their own or with a family member, be brought in by the Crisis Response Team, or by law enforcement.
