Introduction

On July 6th, 2019, Jeffery Epstein, an American financier with links to presidents of both political parties, was arrested and charged with sex trafficing (Jeffrey Epstein: The financier charged with sex trafficing 1). On August 10th, 2019, Epstein was found dead in his jail cell at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) (60 Minutes Investigates the Death of Jeffrey Epstein 1).  After his death many conspiracy theories developed:
1. Was he killed by Bill Clinton?
2. Was Donald Trump involved?
3. Is he still alive?

Character analysis

Epstein was a remarkably intelligent man as he graduated from high school at the age of 16 and attended 2 Universities but did not receive a degree from either (Pak 1). Epstein began his career as a math teacher at Dalton School in New York City, then spent six years at financial bank Bear Stearns before founding J. Epstein & Co. in 1982 to handle funds for ultra-wealthy customers (“Jeffrey Epstein: The Financier Charged with Sex Trafficking.”).  Epstein was an extremely powerful man who had incredible amounts of money, but it is not documented as of where he got it from.

Epstein was wealthy, with wealth brings power, and some individuals in positions of power believe they are beyond the law. He was also in the same social circle as the politicians, prosecutors, judges, and others who write legislation, and he also donated large sums of money to legislators such as Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Eliot Spitzer, Bob Packwood, and Bob Dole. Since 1990 Epstein has donated $147,426 to various Democrats and $18,250 to Republicans (Rogers 1). Epstein had abused his power as he “had been accused of running a sex trafficking ring in which he sexually abused dozons of underage girls, claims that have been circulating for years around the politically connected buissiness man for years” (Orden 1).  According to “Jeffrey Epstein: The Financier Charged with Sex Trafficking.” BBC News:

Prosecutors forged a deal with the hedge fund manager in 2008. He avoided federal charges - which could have seen him face life in prison - and instead received an 18-month prison sentence, during which he was able to go on "work release" to his office for 12 hours a day, six days a week. He was released on probation after 13 months. (1)

On July 6, 2019, Epstein was arrested and held at Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York. On August 10, 2019 Epstein was found unresponsive in his jail cell after an apparent suicide (“Jeffrey Epstein: The Financier Charged with Sex Trafficking”).  Research proves that Epstein was an incredibly intelligent and powerful man.

There are three  main conspiracy theories involving Jeffrey Epstein's death. The first theory regarding Epstein's death is that Bill Clinton was involved. The second and more interesting theory is that his former friend, Donald Trump, was involved. The third and probably the scariest theory is that he is still alive to this day.

Conspiracies

The first conspiracy spread across the internet like a wildfire “Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself!” (Matthews 1).  According to Vox News, the day Epstein was found dead in his cell many people including Donald Trump and Paul Gosar did not hesitate to say who they thought did it:

Paul Gosar sent out 23 consecutive tweets whose first letters spelled out a startling claim: EPSTEIN DIDN’T KILL HIMSELF and President Trump retweeted a conservative personality who captioned a video in which he pontificates at length about his theories with “we know who did this” and the hashtags #ClintonBodyCount and #ClintonCrime family. (Matthews 1)

Why were these political representatives saying that the Clinton family did it? In 1993 Linda Thompson, an Indianapolis lawyer and militia movement activist, made a list of 34 people who were connected to the Clinton family who had passed away and titled it “The Clintons Body Count: Coincidence or the kiss of death?” (Matthews 1). Why would Bill Clinton want Epstein dead? According to Newsweek, Bill Clinton had been lying about his true relationship with Epstein:

Epstein's victim, Virginia Giuffre, has said that she saw Clinton on Epstein's private plane to Little St James with two girls, though he denies ever having visited the island. Angel Ureña, a spokesperson for Clinton, said he had never been to the island and added: “He'd not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade. Well before his terrible crimes came to light”.(Royston)

Bill Clinton's true ties to Jeffrey Epstein, as well as Epstein's own documented sex offenses, are all credible allegations of sexual misconduct. It doesn't take much ingenuity to move from there to suspicions that Clinton was involved in Epstein's sex abuse, and then to outrageous claims that Clinton had Epstein's killed.

Donald Trump and Epstein were very close friends in the late 80s to the early 2000s. In 2002, Trump told New York magazine, “I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy… He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side” (Cooper 1). After years of friendship, “Trump had banned Epstein from his exclusive Mar-a-Lago Club for hitting on the teenage daughter of another member”(Mangan 1). After Epstein was found dead in his jail cell, ABC News had quoted Trump saying "I had a falling out with him a long time ago, I don't think I've spoken to him in 15 years, I wasn't a fan. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you"(Royston).  Being the president at the time of Epstein's death, Trump was incredibly powerful and had long documented ties to the mafia (Cooper 1). After being friends for so long, why would Donald Trump want to kill Epstein? At the very least, it is incriminating for the American far right's leader to have spent nearly two decades associated with a violent sexual predator whose taste for young girls was well-known.

Could he still be alive? Is it possible that all of this was faked so that he wouldn't have to spend time being locked up? Many people think so after a potential sighting, and according to The US Sun News, “A video posted by YouTube channel ABQ Raw, it has been claimed the billionaire was spotted outside the infamous ranch inside a red vehicle as he approached the fence line” (Knox 1).  The narrator in the video from ABQ Raw claims that "While we were on scene, a red truck approached the fence line and a gentleman rolled the window down. He observed the protest and raised his cell phone to snap some photos of the group. The driver of the red truck had a striking resemblance to the recently deceased Jeffrey Epstein" ( 1). Another claim that supports this is that in February, following Epstein's death, his estate transferred more than $12 million to his US Virgin island bank. Why would his estate transfer him $12 million if he's supposedly dead? Carolyn Hermon-Purcell, a magistrate judge, had the same question. At a court hearing on the motions involving Epstein's estate:

Hermon-Purcell questioned the estate’s lawyers about the transfers to Southern Country, saying the disclosure was not satisfactory. The judge said she did not know why Southern Country would be receiving checks from the estate. ‘There’s no explanation for it’ she said. A lawyer for the estate responded that some of the payment had been made in error, but the judge was not satisfied with his response and asked him to follow up with a fuller accounting. (Goldstein 1)

The fact that Epstein was able to get a banking license is extremely unusual. With this being the most likely conspiracy, is Epstein still alive?

Conclusion

Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC). The result of his death led to many conspiracy theories but the main three questions are:
1. Was he killed by Bill Clinton?
2. Was Donald Trump involved?
3. Is he still alive?
To this day, the mystery remains unsolved and continues to baffle conspiracy theorists. However, due to the evidence found it is very likely that he is still alive today.
