Episode Description

If parents and teachers could wave a magic wand over kids with ADHD to make them more productive and successful in and out of school, for what would we wish?  Many of us would wish that they would display more intrinsic motivation for and interest in school, especially for tasks or subjects that are required but not personally interesting and captivating.

Are resistance, avoidance, or oppositional behavior signs of lack of motivation — or are they something else? How do we transfer the passion some kids have for video games, music, or skateboarding into the classroom? In this webinar, we’ll explore what sparks kids’ interest and keeps them motivated, and how to help them get into gear more easily and more often.

In this webinar you’ll learn about:

  • What it means to be motivated, and how parents can get kids to jump in and do the work
  • Why some kids seem obsessed with certain activities, and how to shift their attention, energy, and even excitement to schoolwork
  • Why some kids aren’t motivated to do anything, and how parents can turn around “intense resistance”
