The SELC Chronicle
Enfield Head Start, Integrated Pre-K, PK STEAM Academy
Greetings Stowe PK Community,
On behalf of all Head Start, Integrated PK, and PK STEAM Academy Staff, I want each one of you to know we are thinking of you and wishing you well during these uncertain times.
Over the past several days, staff have been meeting via the internet to share ideas about how to best support you in your endeavor to continue PK learning at home. This new way of working with one another to support kids and families can feel impersonal. Hearing the gratitude in teacher’s voices as they share stories about the individual messages, pictures, and videos they are receiving from you keeps us connected to one another. This connection is what helps this unfamiliar situation feel familiar, so thank you. Thank you for taking the time to stay in touch. It means so much to us.
Distance Learning Update:
Packets were sent home last week with each PK student. These packets provide ideas for activities to support learning at home. The staff has been working diligently to prepare additional distance learning activities in the event that our school closure is extended. After receiving common feedback inquiring about what a typical PK day looks like, each program has structured the next round of “work” to align to their daily classroom schedules and program specific requirements. You can find these schedule outlines below and use them to guide the activities you are already doing.
Resources:
Our Family Resource Center staff continue to be available to you during this time. They can be reached by calling 860-253-6580 or by emailing egrimes@enfield.org.
