Pick Up/Say Goodbye Days
On June 15, 16 and 17, we will be welcoming parents and students to drive by, pick up belongings, report cards, Square Art and more! You will be able to smile and wave to our wonderful staff members. We ask that everyone stays in your vehicle as you follow our drive through procedures at the drop off/pick up area. (See the schedule below). Classroom teachers have one hour blocks when they will be sitting on the HMS lawn waiting to see your beautiful smiles and wave goodbye for the summer. Don't worry if you aren't able to make it through at that time, you are welcome to drive through between the hours of 9-3, June 16 & 17 and between 8-3 on June 15. We can't wait to see everyone. If you borrowed an iPad from Enfield Public Schools, please hold onto them until you receive notification from us about returning them. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

A Message from Mrs. Battista~Summer Reading 2020
SUMMER READING 2020
Hello HMS families! I hope that you’re all doing well and staying healthy. I would just like to share with you some information on Summer Reading options for your families. In the take home bags that you will receive from HMS you will find an information sheet from Enfield Public Schools, with a listing of the options and web addresses for the recommended sites for Summer Reading. Please do not feel overwhelmed by the information provided, or the downloading/printing of material. The purpose of Summer Reading is for students to explore and enjoy at their leisure. To participate through the Enfield Public Library (https://www.enfieldpubliclibrary.org/summer-reading) check the website beginning June 24 concerning registration. Students in grades K-5 will be using a fun grid to track their progress and prizes. Barnes and Noble(https://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/summer-reading/_/N-2m39)
is offering students a free book, if they read 8 or more books and complete a reading journal. That’s great for motivation! Please have your child keep a log of the book titles that they read, with their name and grade on it, and bring it to school with them in the Fall. Their new teachers will love to see what wonderful readers they are, and their log will be included in the Governor’s Reading Challenge.
Finally, a big THANK YOU to all of you that dropped off library books. The overflowing library cart was quite a sight! If you were unable to find library books, please keep looking. They can be returned in the Fall. It has been a pleasure working with your children this year. I wish you all a safe, healthy and happy Summer!
