Travel Reminder
The following is a reminder with the upcoming extended weekend almost upon us.
Please check out the travel advisory for Connecticut During the COVID Pandemic:
https://portal.ct.gov/coronavirus/travel
If you are traveling out of state and plan to stay longer than 24 hours you must quarantine for 10 days or provide proof of a negative PCR test upon return.
Quarantine Info
Students must quarantine if they are considered a "close contact" of someone who has tested positive.
Close Contact: Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period* starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
Reminders:
- If your child feels sick or is symptomatic please keep them home and let Nancy Netherwood, our school nurse, know as soon as possible. If they are feeling well, they should participate in school remotely during quarantine.
- If you have questions related to Covid testing please feel welcome to contact Nurse Netherwood (nnetherwood@enfieldschools.org).

Opt-In Dates
The next opt-in dates are:
March 1 (TBD)
April 1
To opt-in, please notify our main office secretary, Mrs. Watson, and your classroom teacher no later than one week prior to the opt-in date so we can be fully prepared to welcome your child back into the building.
We ask that families commit to the model they chose for classroom consistency and planning purposes. Staying home for remote learning on scheduled "in school days" should be reserved for students who are sick or have to quarantine only. Students whose family chose hybrid are expected to be in school on their in person days.
We understand that some families may feel anxious about sending their children to school with the rise in positive Covid cases. Therefore, families can opt-out of hybrid at any time and go fully remote. We just ask for a commitment to full remote learning until the next opt-in date.
Attendance
Remote learner attendance is important and will be recorded each day.
Remote students are expected to attend all live lessons and complete their assignments by the end of each day.
- The State holds us accountable for tracking attendance for both in school and at home learners.
- Parents should contact the office to let the school know if the child will not be attending in person or remote school for any reason. If your child is unable to attend classes (whether in-person or live streaming), please email Mrs. Waston in the main office at mwatson@enfieldschools.org and CC’ your child’s teacher as soon as possible. (This would be the equivalent to sending in a note if your child is going to be out for in person learning.)
How to Attend PPT, 504, Conference, SAT, & Other Parent Meetings
Invites will be going to your child’s @enfieldschools.org email address. Families will have the ability to login to their child’s Microsoft365 account from a laptop/desktop/tablet/or phone and get to Teams. Even if that child is in a class the family can still attend a separate meeting on another device. Below is a guide for families to help to get to Teams on their specified device using their child’s account.
If a family member needs to use an outside non @enfieldschools.org email address, please contact our main office for assistance at mwatson@enfieldschools.org.
