Monroe County Indiana food banks and pantries.

Many of the free food pantries in Monroe County Indiana serve a limited area, and they also work closely with Township Trustees. The assistance is for anyone in a hardship, whether they are low to moderate income or someone having a one time crisis. There may be groceries, clothing, perishable supplies, Christmas meals, and even clothing. Each agency offers their own support.

Normally the distribution of groceries is limited to certain days of the week. The food banks, most of which are in Bloomington, may only provide help a few times per month; the hours of each center varies. It is recommended to call in advance.

In addition to food in a crisis, many pantries operate clothing banks or run holiday programs. This means they give out items such as free Turkeys at Thanksgiving, clothing for work or school, Christmas food baskets, and even toys. The primary Monroe County charities to try are listed below.
