What is psychosis?
Psychosis is a set of disruptions to a person’s thoughts and perceptions that make it difficult for them to recognize what is real and what isn’t. Psychosis describes an experience, not an illness, and it is more common than you may think.
What is a first episode?
A “first episode” refers to the first time someone experiences psychotic symptoms or a psychotic episode. This can be highly disturbing and unfamiliar, leaving the person confused and distressed.
