LACAR 2023, NOVEMBER 15 - 17

LACAR 2023 is the IV Latin American Congress on Automation and Robotics that promotes an open forum where researches, scientists, and engineers from academia and private industries come together to present current and exciting research applications, and discuss future challenges in this fascinating field. It aims to generate activities in research, development, and application on automation and robotics by exchanging knowledge, experiences, and the synergy of research groups from different places from Latin American.

The first edition of LACAR was held at the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP), Panama City in 2017. The congress  included different research areas such as control algorithms, systems automation, perception, mobile robotics, computer vision, educational robotics, robotics modeling and simulation, and robotics and mechanism design. Main workshops was topics related to automation and robotics research in Latin American, the collaboration between research groups, development of low-cost robotic systems and disaster risk management.

The Second  Edition of LACAR was held at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Cali, Colombia between 30 october to 1 november of 2019. LACAR 2019 included many activities related with the Automation & Robotics such as: conferences, workshops, tutorials and contest.

The third edition of LACAR was  held virtually  and supported by the Tecnológico de Monterrey online platform, between November 17-19, 2021. LACAR 2021 included many activities related with the Automation & Robotics such as: keynotes, conferences, workshops and tutorials.

The fourth edition of LACAR will be held at Universidad Don Bosco, El Salvador between November 15-17, 2023. LACAR 2023 will include different interesting activities such as conferences, tutorials, workshops and keynotes.

As a product of the first edition a book including the proceedings of the congress was published in the prestigous editorial Springer.

The scope of this book covers a wide range of themes associated with advances in automation and robotics research encountered in engineering and scientific research and practice.

These topics are related to control algorithms, systems automation, perception, mobile robotics, computer vision, educational robotics, robotics modeling and simulation, and robotics and mechanism design. LACAR 2017 has been sponsored by SENACYT (Secretaria Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnologia e Inovacion of Panama).

Information for Authors

All papers must be written in English and submitted electronically in PDF format via Easychair. Papers submitted to LACAR 2023 will undergo a peer-reviewing process.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers, who will give detailed comments and. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind reviewing process.

 

Guidelines for Paper Submission

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

The official language of the conference is English. Submit your full draft papers in PDF format. The final version of the paper must not exceed 8 typeset pages. Each submission will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be published in a proceedings book by Springer.

>> Papers will only be published in English.

whether on invitation or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications

before publication.

>> Papers must follow the Spinger chapter book style.

Best Papers Award
  • Selection of the best papers will be made based on novelty, technical content, impact and presentation of the work. Authors will receive an award certificate and work will be recommend for publication on  SN Applied Science, Springer.

Special Issue

Best papers will also be consider for publication in an Special Issue in the Open Access Journal  “Wearable Technologies”, which is Scopus Indexed. https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/wearable-technologies
