Imagine commuting to work in a self-driving vehicle, saving a trip to the grocery store because you have a robot grocery delivery planned, or benefitting from cost savings and more efficient delivery associated with driverless trucking technologies. All of these technologies are currently being tested in Texas and are changing the way we live, work, and play.

The Connecting North Texas Communities with Emerging Transportation Technologies initiative will help community leaders plan for the future of transportation in North Texas. The project will give decision makers the data and tools needed to assess emerging transportation technologies entering the market and design the infrastructure needed to meet community needs.

These emerging technologies are not one-size-fits-all solutions for North Central Texas communities. They can be tailored and configured to the community’s specific needs. The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is helping local agencies learn how to plan, partner, and invest in new technologies through the Automated Vehicles 2.0 (AV2.0) Program:

    • Planning (AV2.1)
    • Partnerships (AV2.2)
    • Investment (AV2.3)
