In Rhode Island, BHDDH's Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is responsible for planning, funding and overseeing a community system of services and supports for adults with developmental disabilities. We believe that all Rhode Islanders deserve to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. Our work supports statewide efforts to expand opportunity and provide high-quality services for all Rhode Islanders.

Eleanor Slater and the RI Psychiatric Hospitals are Hiring

The RI State Psychiatric Hospital in Cranston and Eleanor Slater Hospital (Cranston and Pascoag campuses) are hiring Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Institution Attendants. Cook's Helpers are needed in Pascoag (training provided).

May is Mental Health Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the vital role of mental health in our overall well-being. It is also important in raising awareness to ensure individuals in need receive proper treatment. Established in 1949, this observance has never been more relevant than it is today. Mental Health Awareness Month educates and informs the public about mental illness, promotes the understanding of research and treatment options, and combats the stigma associated with mental health issues. Each May there is a collective effort to promote understanding, support, and access to resources for all individuals impacted by mental health challenges.

 

Logo for Recovery Friendly Workplace RI

Rhode Island's Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) Program 

RFW is an initiative from the Governor's Office and the Division of Behavioral Health at BHDDH. The program provides guidance, training, and technical support to address supporting employees in recovery, those that may be struggling with substance use and/or mental health conditions, and job placement for individuals in recovery looking for careers. This support is provided to employers at no cost.
