Edgar H. Parkman Newsletter
March & April 2023
Hello Parkman Families!
Can you believe that it's the first full day of Spring? We are looking forward to enjoying the outdoors, but mother nature has not been cooperating! Regardless, we are still having outdoor recess and breaks, so please make sure children are dressed appropriately for the weather. There are many unclaimed sweaters, coats, hats and gloves in the lost and found. Please have your child check the lost and found (in the cafeteria) if they are missing something.
Best regards,
-Irene Roman, Principal
-Julia Barnett, Assistant Principal

Celebrations
Math Extravaganza
Our Math Extravaganza night was a huge success with 167 people in attendance. The Parkman Math Committee collaborated with the ERFC to plan a fun night of math activities for families to enjoy. Students and families practiced skills related to place value, fractions, capacity, weight, length, multiplication, and more! ERFC helped us facilitate the event by providing volunteers and they also provided a delicious dinner. A big thank you goes out to the Parkman and ERFC staff who made this event possible! Our families and staff look forward to this event every year.

Parent Focus Group
During the 2022-2023 school year Enfield Public Schools is working with CREC Resource Group to review its current programming. Results of this review will assist with the development of district equity goals. These goals will be embedded within classrooms and supported by curricula, as well as positively impact school climate and culture. Administrators, staff, students, and parents will participate in voluntary discussions about their perspectives of the school climate and culture with Education Specialists from CREC Resource Group. Discussions will take place in the form of a focus group of 8-10 parents led by Education Specialists from CREC Resource Group. All focus groups will take place via Teams and while they will be recorded, individuals' names and demographics will not be connected to their comments and will not be included in the final analysis. All participation is voluntary and commentary is anonymous.
Questions and discussion will revolve around the following topics:
- Professional Learning
