Health & Safety
Nurse's Notes
Please contact the school nurse, Mrs. Netherwood, at 860-253-6572 or at nnetherwood@enfieldschools.org with health related questions.
Remember with autumn and its magnificent display of colors means a change of weather, often we see an increase in contagious illnesses. Please review school health policies for guidance regarding when to keep your child home and when it’s the right time to return to school. http://www.enfieldschools.org/district_depts/pupil_services_dept/health_services
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the influenza vaccine be given annually to all children starting at six months of age. Please check out the link below with your child on how to prepare for the flu season https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pdf/freeresources/family/ready_wrigley_flu.pdf
Vision Screening at Parkman is Thursday, November 10 th only. Due to a recent change in the state statute, the Enfield Lions Club will perform the Spot Vision Screening on all students that day. Please make sure your child has their glasses (for distance or close-up) in school that day.
Water Bottles: Please provide your child with a reusable water each day. Students are not allowed to drink from water fountains around the school, but they may fill their water bottle at them. We encourage our students to drink water throughout the day. Drinking plenty of water helps alleviate many complaints of headaches, stomachaches, and sore throats. Students have more energy, do better in school & sports and have fresher breath.
FALL BACK: Sunday, November 6th we turn the clocks back 1 hour. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep!
Curriculum & Instruction
PBIS
Students are also frequently earning our new RAD tickets. Students earn RAD tickets when they are caught exhibiting our Core Values during Recess, Arrival, and Dismissal (RAD). The class in each grade level with the most RAD tickets at the end of each month will be deemed the "RADdest" class and get an extra 15 minutes of Recess!
Technology
iPad Reminders
Students should remain logged into their iPad with their school-issued Apple ID only at all times. When students log out of their school issued Apple ID, the iPad loses the school-issued settings, including security filters.
