The Broken Hero #2

Till I Kissed You

Rate this book
Picture-perfect Phoebe Powell is anything but. Her ex-fiancé’s betrayal four years ago left her broken inside and now love has no place in her hardened heart. Her greatest burden is a secret that haunts her and keeps men at arm’s length. But in spite of that, Phoebe relishes her work—and she’s damn good at her job. As Reporter of the Year her focus is on her career. Phoebe will do anything to get the promotion that’s waiting in the wings, even if it means putting her life at risk.

Dylan Marshall, former Navy SEAL turned special-ops agent, has had his eye on Phoebe Powell for the last year. She’s sexy, confident, and all-around feisty. His kind of woman. But she’s off-limits. They’re just friends. Dylan isn’t afraid to test boundaries, but this is one line he will not cross. That is, until Phoebe’s life is threatened. Now he’ll do anything to keep her safe, even as their connection draws them closer and their attraction becomes more difficult to deny.

Maybe just one kiss…

Can Dylan scale the walls around her heart and chase Phoebe’s demons away, including the imminent threat closing in on her?

Is Phoebe’s deeply kept secret too disturbing to ever move on from, let alone share it with Dylan?

Till I Kissed You by Michelle Fernandez is one of those stories that will just sweep you off your feet. This story comes after Till I found you and we meet Phoebe and Dylan.

What I enjoyed about this story is the connection/chemistry between Phoebe and Dylan. It jumps right off the pages right from the start on the dance floor of their friend's wedding. And then we are taken on this electrifying ride. Friendships are tested. New relationships are formed and Oh we can't forget that one thing I can't tell you about till you read it.

Phoebe is a mess but living the picture-perfect world as the reporter of the year. But when things just keep coming and throw in the Dylan who just won't walk away. Things become a little more completed. and what a story we get.

Smooth read, that you don't feel like your missing something, This story just flows right through that the next thing you know its over and your left wanting more.

But what if it did work out?

Phoebe and Dylan are thrown together when she catches the bouquet and he snags the garter at Chloe and Julian's wedding. They're sizzling right away, but they can't be together - they run in the same circle, and it could be awkward for everyone if things don't work out. But they're still sizzling hot. Phoebe's ex is acting mysteriously so he can get her to talk to him, and gives her a lead on a story that could make her career. He's still a slime, though. It turns out that the lead takes her right into a whole heap of trouble, and she's in real danger. Dylan takes her off grid until his team can figure out what's going on.

What a roller coaster ride this book is! It wasn't too hard to figure out who the bad guy was, but why? I love the 3 questions game that Phoebe and Dylan play to get to know each other. I hate Bryan (her ex) for what he did to her when they were together, and how he made her feel when he told her why he was leaving her. He's also a first-rate a$$ for being so secretive when he tries to get in touch with her again, knowing that she hates him. Her family is a little crazy (for lack of a better word). It was nice to see them trying to forgive and move forward after all that they've been through. Her mother - still a snotty witch. Phoebe has the two greatest best friends in Chloe and Ryland - they fight like sisters, but always apologize and make up, and really love each other. Dylan - holy hotness! Such a nice guy, and full of surprises. (No spoiler here, but his big secret for her near the end of the book - totally swoon-worthy!!!!) His family is just incredible - genuinely nice people.

It's hard to believe that this is a second novel for this author. The first book was wonderful to read, but this one is just WOW!!l

HEARTBREAKING, NEW FRIENDS, ATTRACTION, INTRIGUE, SUSPENSE AND BEAUTIFUL HEA
OMG how have I never heard how fantastic Michelle's books are before?!?! I read a few excerpts of her books and decided to sign up for an ARC and I am totally gobsmacked with how awesome this book is! This book gets ALL THE FLIPPING STARS!!
This book starts out with Dylan and Phoebe being somewhat friends and they start to "see" each other in a new light at their best friend's wedding. They both have had a rough past where relationships are concerned and Phoebe really wants nothing to do with any form of love, commitment or matters of the heart. She's strong, independent, feisty, beautiful and loves her job. She only wants to focus on an upcoming promotion at her news station, even when the past haunts her every day.
Dylan is an ex-SEAL working at his best friend's security firm. He has his charming smile, gorgeous looks, hot body and confident but cocky attitude yet he knows deep down there's something missing in his life.
These two collide when Phoebe accidentally gets herself in hot water and Dylan has to whisk her away to his hometown to keep her safe. Things only escalate more as they start to realize the depth of their connection and emotions for one another. After a harrowing brush with death these two finally get their HEA in the most perfect way imaginable and I only wish Dylan was my schmoops! I am now a total Michelle Fernandez fanatic and can not wait to read more of her work!

Till I Kissed You, the second in the Broken Heroes series features Pheobe and Dylan, both of whom are first seen in Till I Found you but as secondary characters.  Here they get their chance on stage and for their HEA.  Pheobe is one of the three best friends from the first book and an investigative reporter.  She is all about her career and casual dating, not believing in love.  Dylan works at the security firm with Julian (Book 1) and Pheobe is on his radar.  When Pheobe's ex sets her on a path that leads her into danger, Dylan takes up the reins of keeping her safe.

A nicely paced romance that while the focus is on the couple and their building relationship, a good amount of story revolves around the suspense of who is after Pheobe giving the story a good flow.  The chemistry between the leads is solid with a nice touch of steam.  Pheobe's character is a no-nonsense woman who needs a nudge in the romance department to give her life that it is missing.  Dylan is the alpha protector with a sensitive heart.

If you are looking to lose yourself in a no angst, sweet yet sexy with a touch of danger romance, Till I kissed You is a good choice.

Till I Kissed You by Michelle Fernandez is flawless perfection.

Emotional. Captivating. Soul-Shattering.

Michelle has done it again. She has torn me into pieces and stitches me back together with her words.

My heart and nerves have bruised. I love when books make me feel this way. Im still trying to wrap my mind around the majestical wonder is Till I Kissed You. Such a lovely story, I enjoyed it so much!It was addictive and I couldn't put it down.

The characters were amazing and had me so intrigued, the suspense of not know what had happened in Phoebe's past to make him think he wasn't good enough for Dylan.
While the passion in this story is sizzling, I think what drew me in was the whole concept behind why Phoebe and Dylan are the way they are and how they find each other.

There is too much to say about this book but I don’t want to spoil it for you. This is one is one of those books that you should experience knowing nothing about it for a full enjoyment.

An epic romance, and top 2020 and lifetime read!

Phoebe Powell is a confident, fun, feisty woman, an investigative reporter who is wrapped up intensely in her job, putting her career before any kind of love interest. Her ex-fiance’s betrayal, as well as her mother’s many marriages, had cured her of believing in love. Casual dating was all she was up for.

Dylan Marshall, a former Navy SEAL now special-ops agent working with Julian, has been interested in Phoebe for the past year, but has remained in the “friend” zone. But when danger comes her way, Dylan is ready to do whatever he needs to do to keep her safe. Will their new forced proximity help Phoebe to lower her walls and give Dylan a chance? Or will her career still be her only focus in life?

This was a well done story line with a potentially growing romance offset by the tension of who and why Phoebe has become a target. The characters will make the reader care about what happens to them. You won’t want to miss this one!

This book got me in the feels from the beginning. Dylan and Phoebe were made fro each other. Both needed to move past the hurt they both held onto from their pasts in order to see the love in front of them. Their attraction sizzled and their chemistry was palpable. Dylan protectiveness of Phoebe was fabulous to read. Someone finally putting her first was just everything Phoebe needed in her life. There were twists and turns and drama galore which only made the story that much better. I loved every word and hated to see it end! Fabulous book I can not wait to read the next book in the series!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! From start to finish I was hooked and I could not put it down. It has everything you want in a great story - an awesome story line, amazing characters, drama, suspense and some HOT chemistry!

Phoebe is such a strong character. She's had her heart broken and has put up walls in order to make sure that never happens again. However, those walls start to come down when Dylan is around. The chemistry the two have is off the charts and getting harder and harder to ignore.

Things really heat up when Phoebe's life is threatened and Dylan steps up to protect her by whisking her away to safety.

This is a must read book and series for sure!

A fabulous addition to the Broken Heroes Series. Till I Kissed You can be read as a stand-alone even though you are introduced to the characters in Book 1 of the series - Till I Found You.

I loved these characters from their first introduction in book one and when I heard these two were getting their own story I was stoked. Dylan, the sexy and charismatic ex-Deal now security agent and Phoebe, the beautiful and sassy reporter. These two are perfect for one another in ways even I didn’t expect. Their best friends weddings give an opportunity for them to grow closer then other circumstances push them even closer together and everything changes.

An action packed must read romance!

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Phoebe and Dylan’s story. Phoebe has been in Dylan’s sights for the past year, yet can them they move on from friends / lovers? No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is broken characters, danger, secrets, emotion, and love, which all had me totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all.

Phoebe and Dylan knew each other but something changed the night of their friends wedding. The attraction between them could not be ignored but can they take the chance on their friendship should things not work out. Then someone from Phoebe's past reappeared in her life and not long after that she dissappeared. She ended up on Dylan's doorstep, the person she trusts and feels safe with. Dylan knew that he could not let her go but can she allow herself to believe in love again?

Oh hell yes!!! Till I kissed you by Michelle Fernandez is absolutely amazing. Right front he start I was hooked in Phoebe and Dylan. Their spark just jumps right off the pages and their intensity is equally addictive. The whole story is full of suspense, heart pounding moments and feel good moments!!! The supporting characters and the writing makes this book and the first in the series, Till I Found You, one of my new favourite series. It’s full of sexy hot ex- navy seals and strong, fierce females. There is nothing to not love about these books. Definite must read!!!!

Phoebe doesn't believe in marriage after her parents divorce, her mother having married plenty of times since. Her career is her main focus and the promotion she wants.
Dylan has admired phoebe from afar but its his best friend Julian's wedding that puts the two together.
A blast from her past puts her in danger but trusting Dylan feels right

Phoebe is beautiful, confident, and broken. Dylan is a Seal who thinks she's his kind of woman. However, they're just friends. That's about to change;for this Seal won't let anything happen to his woman. But its one Kiss! What'll happen hem. Beautiful love story. Love the characters and storyline. Michelle Fernandez is relatively a new author to me but the woman is awesome author. Look forward to more from her.

Loved the bantering of Phoebe and Dylan. It was hard not to swoon over this ex SEAL being all macho one minute and starry eyed the next. I loved their Q&A sessions and how protective Dylan was over Phoebe when she got into a pickle. Putting the city girl into the country was a nice touch. Need to keep reading this series!

Another awesome book by Ms Fernandez...the explosive chemistry between friends is off the charts with lots of push and pull between them. More mystery, murder and mayhem but keeping their hearts safe may be the biggest threat. Will Dylan be able to keep Phoebe safe and convince her that the love he feels is genuine? Loved it!❤❤❤❤❤ I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.

This was an enjoyable book and my heart broke for Phoebe and what she went through when her ex betrayed her, leaving her to harden her heart and leave no room for love. What helped get her through was her job, which she really enjoyed. Dylan has liked her for a year but never said anything since they are friends and he didn't want to lose her friendship, though he did swoop in when she was in danger. He was willing to do anything he could to protect her. I loved how he proved through actions, not just words how he felt for her.

This is the first that I've read from this author. She kept me invested on these characters, the same ones that stole my heart. I didn't realize that book is second in the series. The good new, though? I get to go back and see how this all started.

Were there a few places that I wished had more depth? Yes. I also needed some questions answered.

I'll be checking out what comes next.

This was another solid offering from this author! Phoebe and Dylan are firmly in the friend zone. Phoebe has walls built solidly around her and Dylan is still healing from a broken marriage. Their feelings for each other start to change at the wedding of their mutual friends. When Phoebe's career puts her in jeopardy, Dylan pulls out all the stops to keep her safe. Their story is an emotional read and I really enjoyed their journey to happiness.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️
