They just want to wish sad Splendour-goers well.

Baker Boy - one of the acts affected by Friday's cancellation of Splendour In The Grass - pulled Bernard Fanning up on stage for a surprise collab at the Byron Bay Beach Hotel last night.

The Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land performed 'Wish You Well' – his hip hop flip of Bernard Fanning’s Hottest 100-topping single – with assistance from the Powderfinger frontman. Check out footage below.

Taking place at the Byron Bay Beach Hotel, the make-up show featured Baker Boy, Confidence Man, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and more.

The Yolŋu sensation's set also included tracks from his inspiring debut album Gela, and his Like A Version flip of Blur's 'Song 2' mashing in his Yolŋu Matha flow and Yidaki blowing. Check out that and the original LAV performance below.

Danzal Baker (aka Baker Boy) released 'Wish You Were' last month and told triple j at the time he was hoping to perform with Fanning live at Splendour, since he lived "nearby [the festival] and hopefully he might come."

But those hopes were dashed when Splendour organisers cancelled Friday's main stage performances due to safety concerns over wild weather conditions.

"Heartbroken not to be rocking it at Splendour In The Grass with you mob," Baker Boy wrote in an Instagram Story earlier today. "Splendour organisers made the best choice for everyone's safety and that's always the most important thing."

Baker Boy told triple j it was Fanning who first reached out with the idea to update 'Wish You Well' for a modern audience. The original 'Wish You Well' was the lead single from Bernard Fanning's 2005 debut solo album, Tea And Sympathy, and that same year took the Powderfinger vocalist to the top of triple j's Hottest 100 for the third time.
