Our audiences fill venues to capacity, eager to engage in these conversations.

This fall we are excited to host Jeff Immelt, Venture Partner with NEA and former CEO of General Electric, in conversation with Max Baucus on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Mr. Immelt will be in person, and the conversation will be moderated by University of Montana Provost Pardis Mahdavi.

Previous Events in this Series

In spring of 2022, we hosted a conversation with John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, in conversation with former U.S. Senator and Ambassador Max Baucus. This event was hyflex (in person and online) on Thursday, April 21. 

In 2021, we hosted A Climate Conversation featuring former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and former U.S. Senator and Ambassador Max Baucus. This event was hyflex (in person and online) on Thursday, October 28, 2021. This event was not recorded, but you can read coverage from KPAX, the Missoulian, and KVGO.

In 2020, the Series was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, CNN's Chief National Security Correspondent and co-anchor of CNN Newsroom Jim Sciutto joined us. We also featured award-winning author Michael Punke and Former Senator and Ambassador Max Baucus in conversation on China-U.S. relations, moderated by journalist Gloria Riviera. 

In our 2018 inaugural speaker series, we hosted Maureen Dowd, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and op-ed columnist who has written for The New York Times and Time Magazine, and Carl Hulse, The New York Times chief Washington correspondent and veteran of more than three decades of Washington reporting.
