Press Statement  AG Healey Issues Statement in Response To Texas Abortion Ban

BOSTON — Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey today issued the following statement in response to Texas’ new restrictions on abortion, which went into effect today after the United States Supreme Court declined to intervene immediately:

“Texas’ radical new abortion ban is a dangerous attack on medical providers, vulnerable patients, and basic health care. Should such a law be upheld, powerless patients will be forced to carry pregnancies, regardless of rape or incest, or have their doctors and families threatened with legal action. We will fight this latest effort to overturn Roe v. Wade and stand up for freedom, privacy, and basic rights.”
