Momentum Builds in Texas: Dem. AG Nominee Garza Outraises Ken Paxton

Indicted, Failed GOP AG Struggling in Re-Election Bid

Washington, DC — As the 2022 midterm cycle heats up, Texas Democratic AG Nominee Rochelle Garza outraised GOP incumbent Ken Paxton in the second fundraising quarter. Garza’s strong fundraising numbers show a “sign of the race’s growing competitiveness,” reports the Dallas Morning News.

They report, “Garza netted nearly $520,000 in campaign donations compared to the $340,000 raised by Paxton, according to campaign finance reports.”

“Garza put out a triumphant statement on Monday, pointing to the fundraising disparity as proof that Paxton is ‘the weakest and most vulnerable AG in the country. We can win,’ said Garza, a civil rights attorney.”

“The two-term attorney general has been under indictment for securities fraud since shortly after taking statewide office in 2015, and in late 2020, he came under FBI investigation over allegations of bribery. Paxton has denied wrongdoing.”

Paxton is unfit to serve as a state Attorney General and this November, Rochelle Garza will restore integrity and ethics to the office of Attorney General. That’s the kind of leader that Texans deserve.
