Scope and Contents
The collection includes photographic postcards showing church buildings primarily in New England but also elsewhere throughout the United States. Many denominations are represented but Baptist and Congregational churches predominate. The postcards are arranged by denomination, then by state, then by city. Many of the Baptist, Congregational, and Methodist church postcards were digitized through the Atla Cooperative Digital Resources Initiative and are available online through the Atla Digital Library. URLs for available digital versions are noted in the finding aid.

The material is open for research.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The majority of the postcards were received from the Andover Newton Theological School when its library collections came to the Yale Divinity Library in 2017.
