Seedling Interest Form - Great Kids Farm
Need plants to use with your students in your school garden or classroom? On a seasonal basis, City Schools' Farm to School team distributes seedlings for free to Baltimore City Public School staff who will use the plants for educational purposes. Many schools request seedlings for school gardens, but some schools elect to use plants in potted classroom gardens instead. We generally offer two giveaways -- one in fall, and another in spring.

Please complete this form if you are interested in FREE seedlings for your school this year (2023-2024).

This spring (2024), seedlings will be distributed on Saturday, 4/27/24, 10am-2pm, during Farm Family Hours at Great Kids Farm (6601 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD 21228). Please mark your calendar now! We will send an email reminder in April prior to the giveaway, and all staff who pick up seedlings will be able to select from a variety of fruit/vegetable (e.g., tomatoes, peppers, greens), herb, and flower seedlings to make 1-2 trays.

OTHER NOTES:
  • We’d love to see photos of your garden and/or students planting with seedlings! Please email pictures to farms@bcps.k12.md.us, and/or tag @FriendsGKF and @baltcityschools if you post on social media.
  • Check out our School Garden Toolkit (now a full google site!) for tips, resources, and a video featuring a few school gardens in our district.
  • If you have general questions about planting at your school, complete our School Garden Support Request Form, and we will follow up!
