Announcing the 21/64 Certified Advisors
of Color Program 2022 Cohort

21/64 is proud to welcome the 2022 cohort for the Certified Advisors of Color Program and are immensely grateful for the 21/64 Advisory Committee who worked earnestly to review video submissions on the four criteria required for the selection of this cohort.

This cohort brings a wide and admirable range of backgrounds, lived experiences and professional expertise. They not only expressed their commitment to diversify philanthropic resources in support of the communities with whom they work, but also articulated their readiness to participate in a Program that incorporates a multigenerational approach to partner with donor families and the next generation who have the influence and intention to make a difference.

We want to thank them for stepping up to share their story in their video submissions and for giving us the opportunity to learn about what they wish to accomplish through their work.

During this year-long experience, the 21/64 team - along with our Advisory Committee, mentors and coaches in the field - will work with the cohort participants to:

  1. Deepen their practices around multigenerational family, wealth and philanthropy so as to be relational and transformational with donors of all ages, stages and backgrounds;

  2. Engage each other utilizing a peer learning model to provide a supportive and brave learning environment, to explore ideas, and adopt new strategies and skills;

  3. Hone their personal narratives to help them articulate their vision as philanthropic advisors and in doing so, inspire donors to diversify their philanthropic investments toward just, equitable and community-led initiatives; and,

  4. Amplify their voices by leveraging 21/64's network to access thought leadership opportunities where participants can share their ideas and experiences, as well as express a call to action to encourage diversity, equity and inclusion in the field.

As we embark on the second year of this Program, we want to honor the Program's 2021
Inaugural Cohort. We appreciate their support, colleagueship and candid feedback during our Pilot year, which enabled us to iterate the Program's offerings and welcome a new cohort of leaders this year.

We are also immensely grateful to the Joyce and Irving Goldman Family Foundation and the Surdna Foundation for their continued financial support to fortify the Program's offerings and wrap-around services. Their contributions will amplify 21/64 and cohort participants' ripple effect in promoting equitable and inclusive practices in philanthropic advising, decision-making and governance; and in turn, expand the types of funding and investments donors are making.

Lastly, to the 21/64 Board of Directors and friends in the Grand Street, NextGenDonors and Certified Advisors network, we thank you for your endorsement and encouragement as 21/64 carries on with our intention to take responsibility for evolving and diversifying the field of philanthropic advising.

We
look forward to continue this learning journey together.
