The Seltzer Firm, PLLC combines high-quality legal services with personal attention and hands-on involvement.  For 30 years,  Suzanne B. Seltzer – the firm’s principal – focused her practice on Alien of Extraordinary Ability petitions (EB-1A), Outstanding Professor/Researcher petitions (EB-1B), National Interest Waiver petitions (EB-2), complex J-1 Waivers, O-1 petitions, Special Handling Labor Certifications, Professional Labor Certifications, and all ancillary and derivative petitions.  Suzanne and her team are known for their exemplary level of service.

Suzanne is well-recognized for her expertise in the field. She is active in both the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and NAFSA, Association of International Educators. She completed her tenure on AILA’s USCIS Benefits & Policy Committee, having served as both Vice Chair and Chair.  She also previously served as the Chair of AILA’s Service Center Operations (SCOPS) liaison committee, and for more than a decade on AILA’s Annual Conference committee. Suzanne is a six time recipient of AILA’s Presidential Commendation in recognition of her service to the association, and a recipient of the Bob Heiserman Memorial Service Award for her work with AILA’s Rome District EMEA Chapter.

Suzanne held similar positions in NAFSA, where she served as a Regulatory Ombudsman for three years and another three years on the Prevailing Wage Working Group. Suzanne is a frequent speaker on immigration issues faced by post-doctoral researchers, institutions of higher education, research organizations, and has contributed articles to Immigration Options for Academics and Researchers (two editions), The Physician Immigration Book, Immigration Options for Physicians, as well as countless others to conference handbooks.

In addition to her contributions to employment-based immigration, Suzanne is also known for her anti-trafficking work. Suzanne co-founded the New York Anti-Trafficking Network (NYATN) and served on its steering committee from 2001 through 2018. She was the lead author on all three editions of the “The T Visa Manual” and lead author on “Immigration Relief for Crime Victims: The U Visa Manual.”  NYATN’s video project on trafficking can be found here.

Suzanne was ranked among the nation’s top 20 practitioners in the area of Immigration Law in 2014, 2015, 2016,  2017, 2018, and 2019, and is currently one of the 75 Immigration Lawyers included in the 2024 LawDragon 500 Corporate Employment Lawyers. She is also ranked in Chambers Global, Chambers USA, and included in Best Lawyers in America, New York Super Lawyers, and New York Magazine’s Best Lawyer’s in New York. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Suzanne received her law degree from Georgetown University’s Law Center (cum laude).
